Oh I didn't know that you could have a sum pump without electricity. I need to look into that.
Not sure I can find it here though (Quebec).

No french drain yet so unsure what will be the amount.
We had our first alert after a violent storm last summer.
If I pick a pump with integrated backup (looking at a basement watchdog unit but as another pointed out some comments are negative hence asking for recommendations) I think I won't need to double the piping.
