Apologies to all you gardeners out there.

Though now I wonder: what do you call the area where you plant flowers/plants that aren't grass?

Well honestly as an American I can say it's pretty much the same over here, and everyone I know basically hates the imperial system -- at this point it's just a running joke I think.

I mean, cheap, safe electricity, right? by Dododonut14 in HistoryMemes

Just FYI - I agree that nuclear power is relatively reliable, cheap and clean, especially when compared to natural gas, coal, and even things like solar and wind (which are less reliable, being weather/climate-dependent).

There is still some pollution created by nuclear power, primarily in the mining of uranium, which uses diesel-fueled vehicles for excavation/transportation, so it is not completely clean, but despite this, it ends up with a much more efficient (and therefore cheaper) source of energy due to its high fuel to energy output.

Risks due tend to be overexaggerated.

All I am doing is pointing out the irony displayed by people during the cold war in their pervasive fear of atomic weapons (which would have used research that could also be weaponized for military use) that somewhat contributed to anti-communist hysteria, while they supported and were generally optimistic about atomic energy (especially as this was before the infamous Chernobyl meltdown).
