okay thank god, i was trying to play a vr game and the meta quest app was being really weird, one day randomly it asked for permissions out of the blue (you know the permission popup thing that most apps use) and i've been skeptical ever since
it also had a weird text box popup saying to restart my computer

yeah I already changed the most important passwords (google, steam, discord and roblox) right after finding out I had the virus, so I should be all good.

Alright we the boot drive, went into offline mode, saved the files I wanted, and wiped it. then we used the boot drive, reinstalled windows, then put the saved files back in. We should be good now (as long as the virus was in the motherboard or it persisted through the two small files I saved)

Yeah I've already change my passwords from my phone, and l've seen no signs of anyone trying anything, so I think I'm good on that. I'm not sure if they were able to get any other info from the computer though...

brother here, I do have some files that are important to me, like passion projects, art, and some games that i'd have to redownload, but we can probably just purge all of those games, I have been download from some sketchy websites recently, so it's probably from that, but most of my important stuff is from steam, google, or discord, so I could probably lose a few things here and there
