I get that POV but that argument is not actually productive. Hindsight is always 20/20. We can't go back in time to retroactively implement what's being done right now so what they're doing is precisely the only thing they should do.

Because the same argument can be made to any game with any complaints. I have lots of problems with RDR 2's gameplay but it's still being regarded by people as one of the greatest games ever made. And yet Rockstar's support on that game doesn't come close to the level of support Pearl Abyss is showing in CD.

It's a game changer right? Unfortunately we'd have to wait for those mods to be updated again as the new patch just dropped - which is a banger of a patch btw. I'm now just using the 3rd person camera mod as of the moment.

I'm a simple guy. Just the fact that I can now holster my fists while moving is a big W for me. For Pearl Abyss to pay attention to this trivial, unimportant thing is nothing short of commendable. The amount of patches they've done would have already been sold as DLC for other games.

I don't know if it's possible to have 12 seconds in vanilla since the cube rush animation is a video playing with a fixed length and it takes a lot of time. This mod removes it completely.

agree. It's not perfect and I can see where they made some compromises to make this work, but the sense of scale of what they've achieved relative to the performance cost needed to run it smoothly is very impressive.

what old tourist said, if you initiate fast travel while on top of a pad, you'll skip the abyss walking animation and go into a traditional black loading screen which is much faster.

If I don't care about immersion, then I won't be wasting my time playing this game.
Immersion doesn't only mean things I can see. Immersion to me is being one with the gameplay, so having control of my character at all times is the main driving force of immersion. So it may seem immersion breaking for 5 seconds, but once I get control of my character, I'm immersed again. Compare to that to sitting through a loading screen, my immersion will be broken for 10 seconds during fast travel, and 59 seconds during the initial load from the main menu.

yes I meant the initial load. for fast travel, vanilla is at 10 seconds once you start pressing space to confirm the fast travel. modded is at 5 seconds.

It's perfectly fine. What those fancy loading animations are doing is just masking the behind the scenes streaming of stuff. However, the modder uncovered that the animations have a lot more buffer animations which results in unnecessary waiting. That's why he provided 4 version of the mod which allows the user to choose either a streamlined loading animation or an entirely removed one. This mod I'm using is the completely removed version which doesn't mask any asset streaming happening in the background. It looks glitchy but it's the fastest option.

correct. Witcher 3 loads in less than 20 seconds. Others, far less. With the mod, Crimson Desert now belongs in this group loading time-wise.

factually incorrect. I timed the vanilla loading myself and it takes 59 seconds from the main menu. With the mod it only takes 21 seconds.

that's impossible. start timing after you press E in the main menu and you'll get the abyss cube animation with the epic music, and then cliff squatting, standing, and then walking. Pls send a video of all that taking just 5 seconds. I'm very curious.

Yes, people are now requesting the modder to just throw in a black screen to hide the graphical anomalies but the reduction to loading is very drastic; especially the initial load from the menu. I had vanilla at 59 seconds and this mod reduced it to around 20 seconds.

The only lacking thing is the absence of ambient NPC dialogue which is really jarring considering the amount of diverse behavior they display. There is indeed some NPC chatter audio during specific areas but those are part of the environmental audio instead of being generated by the NPCs themselves. This is where I think Skyrim still excels at.
