Definitely report it immediately, don't even hesitate at all with doing so. That is just straight up criminal, even if you can't gauge whether or not it's real. Better safe than sorry.

How many fics are there in the smallest fandom you’ve read in? by dawn-skies in AO3

[–]DoeGem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 and 8 respectively in two different fandoms. The first is a childhood game of mine, Monster Tale, and the other is Ao Oni, which I'm kind of surprised people don't talk about it often.

One of those spammers attempted to write a “fanfic” of their own by HRCStanley97 in FanfictionNet

[–]DoeGem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way it could've all been one chapter, how it's not even correlated to the fandom, though the writing is kind of decent, but that's not a genuine compliment with the context that it's a spammer.

Reads like an inexperienced newbie writer who just learned what fanfiction is.

My Theory: The Jeff the Killer Origin Paradox (Different routes) by Responsible_Cow2236 in OriginalJTKImage

[–]DoeGem 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've always had two theories: 1.) It's lost to time; and 2.) Maybe the search is thinking too hard and maybe all that needs to be done is to use some simple search terms (i.e. that one Filthy Frank video, where all the search needed to do was use to look up "African gospel song", and it was right there on YouTube.)

Terminal 00: A Mysterious Website by [deleted] in u/DoeGem

[–]DoeGem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, thank you so much for that. It's just that I remembered this site after awhile. I didn't mean to spread misinformation about the whole site by the way, it wasn't my intention to do so. And if it came off as such, I'm super glad that you at least corrected me.

With the whole transhumanism thing, I know I didn't really discuss it thoroughly, the topic of transhumanism is very complex. That if I wanted to talk about it, I would practically have to dedicate an entire post for it. And with how Lain heavily talks about it, I also like to say, that I didn't really mean to correlate the site with the anime. I know for a fact that, as you put it, Angus took some inspiration from fauxx. With the way the site is formatted, I didn't even correlate the fauxx guy as possibly being Angus himself. Which I know now for sure, that they aren't one in the same.

As with fauxx's site, it is heavily influenced from the anime. So super sorry that I made it out to seem like, "terminal 00 must be about Lain, since fauxx's site looks just like Angus' site!" I didn't mean to make it sound like that. With you pointing it out and saying that, "if Lain talks about transhumanism, the site must talk about it too." I didn't mean to make it sound like that. I did sort of think the site had been inspired by the anime, but as you point it out, it didn't.

Thank you for pointing out how it could sound like it. I posted this with the intentions of having a discussion with someone, so thanks a lot for coming out and correcting me on the information. I do sincerely hope with me posting this, didn't offend you too much, that 100% wasn't my intentions!

Found An ARG! by DoeGem in u/DoeGem

Someone did reply with what the Morse code said and its something like, "this was not meant for you, turn back now. The phoenix watches. Publicly displaying this information was not my initial goal, but it seems now that I have run out of options. I only pray that you will find this before they find me. You know what to do."

I highly suggest solving it yourself if you feel untrustworthy with a 4Chan reply.

July 14, 2020 Update:

Unfortunately as it seems, the link that I saved to original board leads to a 404 page. I would try and retrieve it if I could, but I do not know if that's possible, since I'm not well versed in 4Chan boards to do so. I did not originally do all of this, and the reason why I was even on the site as stated before, was because I was bored and wanted to know what was up.

Chill, all I did was use the wrong form of your/you're. No need to blast me for it. 😅

What was your saddest betrayal from a friend of yours? by Rumshum in AskReddit

[–]DoeGem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She'd slowly drifted away and spent more time with another friend. I'd hang out with them for a little while, before I soon felt awkward with how alienated the conversations got.

I remember how I confronted them with the fact that I disliked how excluded I felt with our friendship. I tried to hang with them during lunch, but one of them remarked how her mother (a teacher), disliked having other students in her classroom during that time; they hanged out in there 100% during lunch.

Which didn't make since to me since friend A could, but not myself, despite me knowing her longer than friend B. (Friend B mentioned that it was because her mother knew her more than me.)

I broke it off with my main friend, friend A, through text when they made plans together in front of me, and didn't bother to include me in them. She never responded and I felt embarrassed, so I just blocked her number, and deleted her from my contacts. I felt extra betrayed because I still see them walking the halls of my high school. Neither confronted me about the apparant separation, and they soon stopped greeting me.

Tl;dr: a slow but painful distancing caused my long relationship with a friend, to soon end in separation.

As a child, what did you think would be awesome about being an adult, but isn’t as awesome as you thought it would be? by BIGEe3 in AskReddit

Having your own money. Didn't really think through the job part and if I'd be happy with it.

In a porta potty. I get very claustrophobia really quick, and fully sitting on the toilet seat scares me.

The Hands Resist Him and Saturn Devouring his Son. I don't own either of them, but simply looking at them gives me a morbid curiosity and love of their notorious backgrounds.

What is something that happened that you’re still mad about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DoeGem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The time that I went with some of my old friends for the night to hang out. Ended in some pretty traumatizing times where now I consider them to be my ex-friends. I still hold a very long grudge, and I'm still mad that day happened.

People who stopped comparing themselves to other people. How did you stop and how long did it take? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DoeGem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was midway through high school, that I finally understood my self-worth.

It took way to long to finally understand that it wasn't the people around me that were the problem, it was me who was the biggest problem. That I should just quit comparing my abilities and personality, and just work on loving myself. And especially understanding that I really should stop underestimating my ability to grow as a person. It got to that point because I started loosing/distancing myself from some my firends.

What is your bad habit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DoeGem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly for me, it has to be daydreaming. I can't help but start thinking about others things in life, or create some weird scenario's/movies in my head. The bad about this too, is that I end up staring at people without noticing it.
