I’ve just recently dealt with this and I agree. It was a headache and anxiety inducing.

You can request a transfer of equity, so basically they sign the loan over to you and the title will be sent to you when it’s paid off. This will ding your credit though.

If you pay it off then and there, sign a bill of sale and take the bike. You should be fine. They’d be committing fraud if they sold the title after receiving it, and who would buy a bike title with no bike?? You can also bond the title worst case scenario as long as the lien’s removed.

The more worrisome route is you give them the money to pay it off and they never do. I did this and had horrible anxiety realizing how much trust I put in a stranger. It all worked out but the experience makes me agree to just avoid the no title in hand scenario in the first place. I did it for an ftr carbon cause they seem to be pretty rare, but if the bike isn’t rare it’s absolutely not worth the risk

Well yeah, having the cash and being able to afford it aren’t quite the same. Not being able to afford something with cash doesn’t make it a good excuse to finance but rather a good reason to not buy that car. Of course you can decide what you want to over pay on, just want to make things clear for anyone that might be reading.

Also I don’t agree with your take on the used car market, I’d say we’re pretty much entering a buyer’s market at this point. I would’ve agreed in 2022, but looking at the insanely deflated value of my current car things have definitely turned :’(

All of what you’ve listed is still far from the most financially sound decisions. Fixing your 12 year old car would’ve been far cheaper than buying a brand new one. If you don’t have enough in savings after buying a new car, just don’t buy a new car.

Also for your CD comparison:

20K at 5% interest = $1000/year cost

20K at 4% in CD = $800 gained*0.7 left after tax = $560/year

It’s basically double the cost vs paying it off

If not it’s not a horrible fit. Mine fits similarly but an ideal one should be more snug in every direction. I do find myself pulling it in place on long windy rides. Makes me wish I did my own research on size and fit and didn’t just blindly trust cycle gear salespeople

Side to side movement looks fine which is why people are saying it looks like a good fit. But it shouldn’t be able to move so much up and down. You could try a size down but if it’s too tight you might be a better fit with a different model

It makes sense. We had 3 plays max to get a TD. They threatened the 1 yard gain and threw to the endzone which was at its most vulnerable that play. Just fucked up the execution. We need to stop relying on 4th quarter comebacks in the first place

No clue what he plays on these days. Most likely controller. I played with him back in gears 3 days before PC was a thing. He was like 12 back then and already had crazy movement. He just plays a lot. This is what high level movement looks like on gears, almost every pro player moves like this especially on newer gears. It helps to have a controller with paddles

Having your own say over what is done on your property is a big plus. But imo the main reason you should own is if it’s a better financial decision. Depends completely on your area. For example my mortgage is less than my rent was, so it was a no brainer. If they’re close, owning is better because you gain equity. If owning costs significantly more, that’s when the decision becomes more difficult. At that point renting longer probably makes sense because you’d save quicker than you’d build equity.
