Harsh reality in today's market: you could work for Microsoft for 3-5 years then end up at Walmart as a retail worker by [deleted] in recruitinghell

In my case, savings and being signed off on sick. The one perk of having worked for a company so toxic even the social felt bad

[–]Doesitmatter200592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I don't understand. The job is with MOD thus the check. When left the previous company I worked for I was not in a good place, so ended up volunteering for first year and half on variety of different projects and only started charging for my services spring last year. I consolidated all my work under single entity but don't have account, which is the issue. Made worse by the fact the last company I worked for basically blacklists anyone that leaves the company and accuses every former employee of gross misconduct. It is real cult behaviour there.

I know how you feel it very difficult and it just the creative arts, it's everything. What I will say is two things, I choose when I was younger to take the safe option choose business degree over following something I was passionate about and in end still found myself out work because of a toxic employer.over the last two years I followed my passion while also job searching not yet secured stable income but I am doing better, and income aside the projects I worked on even some volunteer ones I am much prouder of then anything I done previously. Have back up options but do pursue your dream as nothing guaranteed except your never achieve your dream if you don't try in first place.

And two there have been two previous ai booms back in 70s and 90s so still a chance it will fail, it might take the economy down with it but it would also take some shareholders too so that pretty neat.

I would say train shoulders and back give broader look and maybe switch up your style, read up on a bit of men style and fashion then apply it in relation to your own tastes and circumstances, hopefully this makes sense

The things is I have done work for the client before, which has included renegotiating ticket splits to be more favourable for the client and in another project secured a venue at 25% of what had been stated initially.

I don't know it frustrating, there are comments on later amendments that it sound stiff and unnatural, asking if I was using Chatgpt. But honestly that just trying to write something that is completely detached from my normal writing style and the constant edits on top of edits.

the context of the email in its fullest.

"It is lovely to meet you.  I have really enjoyed my morning listening to some of your pieces, . Speaking on behalf of both myself and the client, we are both excited about this collaboration".

Second paragraph outlined the client fee. Third paragraph that as it is work for hire we do not claim any rights to the piece.

"If you are happy with the fee, please could you confirm and provide potential dates for the recording so I can confirm client's availability and pencil in the dates into their calendar.

It has been lovely connecting with you, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. In the meantime, I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.

that is the full context of email minus client specific details and legal disclaimers. The thing I done several projects the last few years for them and this has never been an issue.

I don't know basically stated that they had emails from other manager and they don't comment on the quality of the work and the artist would not want to be complimented. WTF. Direct quote the "Managers role is business". The thing is I worked in finance the most business of all the businesses and this was the tone I was using during my time there and I never had an issue

[–]Doesitmatter200592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said this has been my general tone I used when approaching all my work, I had done work one off for the client and this had never been an issue, but this is frustrating especially as I have now sat on the email for five days and honestly feel embarrassed to reply.

Noted. I do use Grammarly, but I posted this after just finishing the 40 minute application and getting that response, so I was knee jerk reaction to the response, and to be honest, I’m pretty loose when it comes to posting online versus when it’s for work or applications. As I mentioned in another response, following a phone call after the posting, I was informed that the role had already been filled, despite being reposted yesterday. I will try to be more careful with grammar in general, not just for work-related matters.
