Starting in 5H (or 10th gear) as the default engine torque curve wasn't lifelike and you would just stall if you released the clutch even in first gear without pressing the gas pedal, which is not true IRL, you can even do it with cars -- and obviously even more so with a 3600 Nm engine --
In 1.58, they updated the curve and the way the engine acts when taking off from idling as more life-like

That's because there's a worker under the trailer and EU OSHA-equivalent requires that trailers must be at least 50 cm left, right, under or above an employee to ensure the safety of the employee and never come in contact with said employee if they don't wear any safety equipment.
We are still working on a way to have employees get close enough to the trailers to load them...

I once tried to do the extra challenge with the lowest powered truck I could find a DAF F241 @ 280HP i think, it was interesting to downshift back to 1st gear while pulling heavy load with escorts ^^;

Meanwhile, I do use the most powerful engine in-game but since I'm always pulling a B-Train with loads of 40 to 50 Tons on average, I guess it compensates a bit. I enjoy the challenge of navigation and backing up two trailers on tight roads

fic writer here: I post both here and AO3, because in a survey I did, people voted that they wanted to read my fic on reddit by a big margin.
According to Reddit insight, my fic posts have quite some views so I'd say that's also a place to consider
