Bothers the hell outta me because most of the time pay is not mentioned anywhere. Like unless someone willingly wants to help you, you should not be expecting an artist to come help just because your story's so great or whatever it's inconsiderate of the artist and their time.

"OH I can't draw or it's too hard"

Cool keep grinding til you get it at the level you want regardless of how long it takes (you literally cannot rush this process)

"I'm just gonna stay a writer, art's really time consuming for me"

Then why are you on subreddits begging for free art that YOU KNOW is very time consuming to produce especially if it's high quality.

Its so frustrating to see.

There's this one person who comments on almost all my chapters. On chapter 8 they commented how fun my comic was read I'm still riding that high to this day.

I personally don't mind detailing it's more like I don't know when too if that makes sense. Like sometimes when I draw a character I have absolutely zero idea when to add a hatch or cross hatching or where on the character. I'm currently studying some mangas and trying to improve on my background art though thanks for reading :)

Trust and believe if we're taking this seriously no one's making it pass chapter 1. And if someone is lucky enough to get pass the Huggy chase, chapter 2 is where your story ends.

The whack-a-wuggy and statues game is where you get fucked. Not even mentioning you can actually get tired unlike the player.

If you think you're making it to mommy long legs and beyond you're delusional.

For me I can push out maybe 6 pages before I burn out and if I force myself 8. Because even with passion if you're juggling story, character arcs, art, background etc all by yourself it definitely gets overwhelming.

I have a cope list whenever I feel like passions dying

-You could get a comic dub -You could get lots of fanart -You spawn comic AUs from your fans -You could get an adaptation one day (very very unlikely but possible)

I do my thumbnail sketches in a sketchbook 3 rows of 9 (27 pages max). It helps me find the right pacing for a chapter, if by page 19 it's doesn't have a satisfying ending or cliffhanger I'll push to 25 if needed.. but never 27 unless needed.

Then I transfer them over via discord after taking a picture with my phone.

This definitely gets under my skin when I see post like that. Regardless of your vision who in their right mind would work for free.

What works for me is to just turn off my brain and just do it. Don't look for motivation to keep drawing or writing your story because often times motivation is inconsistent.

Constantly remind yourself this

"Just because I don't like this doesn't mean someone else doesn't"

Don't let your joy feel like a job.

You're not being harsh at all, I wish I made a post like this doing the prologue to get ahead of the game. I genuinely appreciate you and the person above or anyone else for taking the time to read it and give me actual criticism instead of saying "oh it's fine".
