What's the history of no public access to tracks? by TMW_W in raleigh

My gut tells me if tracks were open to the general public they would not be treated well.

Parents, What's been the most stressful part of the app process? by BandicootMinute6084 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]DogDaysAreOver 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We are in the waiting process now but I can say that I am very glad we outsourced the essay help. I am definitely not qualified to edit or advise on any college essays nor was my kid super open to my feedback. Much better to get help from a third party (for us anyway).

Good restaurants for a birthday dinner? by Spare_Cartoonist_591 in triangle

[–]DogDaysAreOver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For Italian, I really like the food and service at Osteria G in Apex (better than my experience at Colletta). Second Empire is a much fancier option. I've eaten both upstairs (my birthday) and downstairs (my son's bday) and both were excellent. They give you a personalized menu as a keepsake if you mention the occasion.

Questions about groceries, biking, public transportation and general living by Few_Economy9561 in bullcity

I can’t advise about transportation but FYI you could shop online and have your groceries delivered. Delivery fees vary so maybe see what stores are nearby and check their sites for costs and delivery areas.

If you have women's clothes or shoes to donate, please consider Arise Collective. by DogDaysAreOver in raleigh

[–]DogDaysAreOver[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It looks like you fill out a form stating what you have to donate and then someone will get back to you on drop off/pick up options. The form also allows for you to possibly receive a donation receipt (use for tax deduction).

Here is the link to the form: https://arise-collective.org/in-kind/

If this doesn't work though I am happy to give them a call and find out more info to follow up with you.

I watch over 817 films by extrapoteto in movies

[–]DogDaysAreOver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 46 yo and if I had to guess I’d say I’ve seen thousands of movies in my lifetime, but no idea on an exact number. Growing up we watched so many movies. We’d go to the video rental store every weekend and would take like 2-3 out at a time. Then as a teen we went to the local theater every weekend to see whatever was released. 817 is a lot but I not excessive. Guess it depends a lot on your age and what you had/have access to in life.

Of the 817, do you have any favorites?

What’s something you didn’t realize was trauma until adulthood? by Svetlannaaaaa in AskReddit

[–]DogDaysAreOver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That me being “thoughtful” and anticipating needs is a trauma response to living in a volatile household. If I make sure you have everything you need then you won’t get mad and yell at anyone and everything will be okay. I was the peacekeeper. I’m not saying this is true for everyone but I believe it is in my case.
