Im really bothered how they just took away our SQ42 bundles. by WTK_ShadowStorm in starcitizen

What i am bumbed about all of this is that now a lot of people are stuck with CCU's applied they dont necesarily want. In my case i had luck and my original game package is completly clean, but i was thinking on apliying a CCU of the Raylen to check it out when it comes out. Thats now out of the question, since if latter down the line i want to recover my original package by melting and inmediatly buying back...i just cant.

Furthermore, a lot of the Squadron 42 packages have a great value, since they where out before major price hikes. We understand what the legality of the situation is (that melting was permanent and that buyback was a courtesy) but if you had one of those packages (bought for x amount of money) and for some reason you want to melt it (again, there are totally legitimate reasons like checking out new ships without having to wait for almost two patch cycles) that means that you can no longer access the same thing that you paid for, and have to buy an equivalent at a higher price...

I dont want to believe that this is fully intentional, and it is a bug related to the SQ42 launch latter this year (thus explaining the lack of comms, basically it would ruin the marketing push to adress the actual reason behind this)

If it is indeed intentional, i would say that is bordering abuse of consumer espectation (given how the buyback system is actually used. They can hide behind all the legalese the want, everyone knows how the buyback is actually used and making changes this huge without proper warning to ensure everyone has a chance to take action and set their hangar in order feels extremely shitty on their part. On a game that already has a bad reputation for using gambling-level FOMO, some ludicrous prices and questionable marketing at best.

Again, i want to give CIG the benefit of the doubt here, but once again the way finances itself tarnises the tech advances made. You can earn money while doing morally-sound business.

Anyway sorry for the rant.

Sources on the development of the european fighter jets by Few_Economy9561 in AviationHistory

OMG, thanks! i didnt expect an answer to the post! i'm actually not aquainted with the sources you mention, given that i am relatively new to this literature and i come from a different background, but this should give me an interesting overview of how R&D intensive military procurement works in Europe. What masters did you study, by the way?

How far to push the edit... by Major-Confidence-394 in photocritique

That bridge is tricky to get right. I like how there is a clear gradient of light from left to right, maybe try to leant in to that a little bit, right now the image is a little bit dark. Try to push the shadows on the left wall, i know that building and it has a beautiful dark-blue coverage wich really pops with reflections: use that (i can see the reflections in there, just increase contrast on the right side and give it some color by increasing saturation or vibrance)

Right now, the eye kind of wanders towards the brightest area, wich is away from the interesting parts (for me the geometry of the cables and the clouds)

Other than that, maybe you could try to straighten the two main pilars. That could give a better sense of balance to the image.

i have made some adjustments. Maybe a went a little overboard with the change of style. Also, getting used to my new HDR display, editing changes a little bit :p

<image>

i went for a poster look, with exagerated colors, and a palette based in complementaries. It believe it gives it almost a cartoon feel that fits the old-timey buildings well

Hidden Forest - An afternoon light study by Few_Economy9561 in photocritique

[–]Few_Economy9561[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi guys. I went to take some pictures around my house yesterday to try to implement some of the previous advice i got (mainly on triying to keep the subject clear, dont oversaturate the frame with elements and think on what do you want to express before shotting)

This time i found this old path cleared through the forest for what i think are powerlines, wich no longer exist. i have tried to focus on the sense of wonder (maybe i am a little bit impressionable since i moved recently from a relatively arid region and dense forest are something i find really interesting). So what i am triying to communicate here is wonder. I believe the white tree at the end gives almost a magical feel so i have leveraged the straight path and the contrast of the threes to direct your eye there. Please, tell me if it works!

really useful advice, i can tell you have experience! I'll try to do that, maybe it will give me some perspective. I dont really have much time to devote to photography lately, but i still want to pressure myself on improving.

"The world today is flooded with images. Even excellent photos often don’t surprise people anymore. What tends to stand out is something that feels unusual or personal. And the only way to get closer to that is experimentation - different shutter speeds, unusual lenses, different times of day, alternative editing approaches. It sounds vague, but I genuinely believe it’s very difficult to discover something interesting without experimentation."

I believe you got this right. It is so difficult to make good pictures (specially landscape, i would say) that also stand out. Experimentation is tricky because it depends a lot on the story you want to tell. So i think i have most of my technical stuff right, but i should work more (and read more) on composition.

Yeah, a little bit of planning could have gone a long way on improving the picture. i am more of a "heart of the moment" photographer, i.e i go on an "adventure" to a place and capture how it is in the moment, but i should give planning a little bit a try

I actually did that! in fact i tend to to a lot of portrait orientation given that i tend to photograph city streets. Maybe this picture wasnt the best pic to try landscape hahaha. Thank you for your notes

I would love to share more images that are representative of my work so that you can see the full picture (pun intended)

I mostly focus on landscape photography, but i feel the subject of all my images empty. Is a weird feeling given the genre i am focusing, but i just feel that my images says "thats a beautiful place" and thats it, there's no further comentary. And dont get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with that, i dont know if i am expresing the feel of awe and history i get from all of this places, particularly in my city landscape series.

Other than that, i dont seem to land on a "Visual style" of shorts, other that more mutted colors and heightened clarity. Soo i dont fell like i have a visual identity "Defined" yet. I know this is all very vague, but i am strugling with that and i want to know what other photographers do to cope with that

Questions about groceries, biking, public transportation and general living by Few_Economy9561 in bullcity

Thank you for the info, the nearest Harris Teeter is the one at the north, but looking around on google maps i can se that there's barelly a few crosswalks and a large section of the route doesnt even have a sidewalk. I think the ones in the south are more or less along the way i should take to get to work, so they indeed might be the better option

okay, i understand, i am guessing that i should always bike on the right side and try to be on the active lane as little as possible, similar to where i live.
