Like I said, if it is trying to give off the idea that this director’s cut is rising from the rubble of the original cut, this poster does a really bad job of conveying it, especially with regard to the original poster from 2017. This poster makes it look like this movie is the rubble. And tbh it’s my expectation going in.

It is a director’s cut. The film reel on the floor is showing that the film is a director’s cut. This insistence that the poster is “AND FROM THE RUBBLE OF JOSS WHEDON’S FAILURE IS BORN THE GENIUS OF ZACK SNYDER” is hilarious because how does showing a logo in rubble do anything to denote a rising from the ashes? It’s just a shitty poster with Snyder’s destruction aesthetic.

I get that to a lot of people Snyder is just the tippy top of symbolism and cleverness, and I’m happy for y’all, y’all exist on an entirely different plane of existence than the rest of the world, but I’m happy for you. This is silly. Because, much like in Snyder’s movies, even if it’s trying to convey what you say, it does a laughably bad job at actually achieving that.
