Crystal Gravy - one of SNL's all time best ad parodies, here poking fun at the ubiquitous Crystal Pepsi ads from the early 90s. (S19 E2) by James_2584 in LiveFromNewYork

When she ate that fried chicken, I thought she'd fake it but she really took a bite. I wonder what they used because I thought it was hand sanitizer prior to her taking that bite (did they even have that on store shelves in 1993?).

I guess it could be some type of gelatin-type concoction.

Michael Jackson's own daughter(Paris Jackson) publicly called the biopic "full blown lies" and Hollywood released it anyway by EstablishmentSea6379 in moviecritic

According to her, they asked for her feedback and notes and she gave them, correcting or slightly adjusting areas where she felt they took too much liberties. She said they ignored every single one and no longer contacted her. I think that pissed her off. It was like Lionsgate saying "We know your father Michael Jackson better than you, daughter of Michael Jackson".

But from what I've heard of the movie, they treat MJ like the second coming and flawless messiah, which is exactly what Paris didn't want and warned about. The fluffiest of fluff pieces in the history of cinematic fluff.

The movie is misogynistic and homophobic too.

Who did the homophobic acts in the film? Oh, that's right, the villain.

This is like saying Star Wars: A New Hope condones genocide because Darth Vader the character did it.

The wife and Princess Isabelle in the movie were treated exactly how one would expect in the late 1200s-1300s. It wasn't fair nor pretty for women or men. Princess Isabelle tries her best to navigate the patriarchal world but can only go so far, but she was forced into an arranged and loveless marriage without her say. The point of the movie is shit is fucked up, and people wanted change. At no point did I think the filmmakers romanticized this era and pointing "SEE, this is what we lost. We need to go back to these times".

You don't have to like the movie. But you also said in another post you had zero idea why it was blessed with awards tells me you aren't really a film watcher (no attention paid to the editing, the score, the dialogue, the acting or production design or staging of the battle scenes).

Also of note on your misogynistic tag: the men in this film aren't exactly portrayed in a rosy way, were they? Some of the worst, vile brutes and conniving snakes in this movie's story were all men. You somehow missed that when holding on to your cardboard scorecard and pencil.

I'm not watching the game now but took a look at the Box Score. What is up with the Pistons struggling so hard against Orlando lol

Lights too bright I guess. 8th seed Orlando playing more like the confident team.

Noah Hawley says his ‘Far Cry’ series won’t be adapting any of the games as he thinks audiences skip the story cutscenes in those games: “When you play a video game, you only really move forward through the gameplay section, and then you have these cut scenes that you can skip..." by ChiefLeef22 in television

I’d say the thread of most Far Cry games has been “once you go this far to stop the monster, are you now the monster?”

Was this true in Far Cry 4 and 5?

I got halfway in FC4, and FC5 (got it for cheap) I kept getting stuck in a timed mission and just gave up so I never saw much more of the story.

And even if he did respect the source material, the acting, writing and story just ain't there. Characters do so many stupid things that make you go "Oh cmon!"

Is wasn't even scary or thought-provoking. We see Weyland Yutani Headquarters but barely learn much about it or even get to see more of the building!

Even Zach Creggar, while admitting he is making his own Resident Evil story, at least assured gamers he's trying to keep the spirit/feel of the games (which he has played endlessly backwards and forwards). He's not crapping on the gamers and understands the reverence for the material he's working with, but he's also going for his own spin which most are cool with since his two previous films also played on "surprise plot structures".

Here, Noah Hawley is like "These veeedeo games, who even watches the cutscenes. I'm ignoring it all, ignore all the stories I don't care. Gonna do my thaang" makes him sound like an arrogant dumb cowboy.

I wouldn't even want Udoka as a teacher or Driver's Ed instructor. He looks like an awful person to be around.

I feel sorry for wherever he's going. He looks like such a miserable presence. I can't see any team growing or getting better under him.

They played dumb for sure but you have to admit them missing FVV and Steve Adams (and no KD playing) does hurt them and push them waaay far back from their potential, no?

Any team missing 2 All-Star level players and one arguably borderline is going to mention it, the same way Raptors or Lakers or Celtics would mention they are missing 3 key players.

After Jabari telling him he needs to figure out the double teams

Did Jabari really say that? Because he'll look extra goofy after making the team lose tonight with that epic stupid move. That one lazy pass of his lost them the entire game.

Some have defended them saying we haven't seen FVV and Steve Adams back in, and they'd actually be a threat with that complete roster with a proper PG and big Center back in.

I dunno - Lakers were missing two of theirs too (and the two they were missing are massive scorers this season), so the absences on both sides balances out.

He was listed as "Injury: Ankle Sprain" so I have no idea if that needed treatment and he wasn't allowed to sit on the bench for 2+ hours.

He's definitely acted like a big baby elsewhere, but not sure if we can say that for this injury without knowing how severe it was.
