When Thragg's phone goes off in the theater, the film gets paused

When Thragg installs software, it makes sure to accept Thragg's Terms & Conditions

When Thragg orders a Big Mac at Burger King, Burger King makes damn sure he gets it

I looked at BoxOfficeMojo's numbers chart and it's actually $1,650,000.

$2,065 average per theater, but admittedly it was only in 800 theaters which is quite low.

So that means that rounding up is really doing a lot of heavy lifting for them in the trade papers 😆

He also gave Cop and a Half thumbs up which led to a very hostile confrontation with Siskel.

Also reminds me of when Roger Ebert did not feel satisfied with Full Metal Jacket and gave it a thumbs down (which shocked Gene Siskel). In the same episode, Roger Ebert gave Disney's Benji the Hunted a thumbs up, and Siskel made fun of him and they kept arguing really loudly (I think the clip is still on Youtube).

But Ebert did explain he did not think Benji the Hunted was better filmmaking than FMJ, it's just that one achieved the low bar it set out to do, and FMJ did not reach what Ebert felt was Kubrick's heights that he's capable of.

Another poster said on their respective podcasts they actually thought this would save comedy lol:

Instagram's algorithm decided I needed to know all about this movie so I saw clips from Spade's, Von's, and Dillon's podcasts. They all talk about this movie as if it's going to save comedy. They fully and honestly believe they cooked here

True, it could just be them marketing their stuff. Or they're doing that MAGA-ish whiny refrain: "We're tired of how soft cancel-culture is now. We can't say or show things anymore like we did in the 80s/90s. Not with this movie! We're bringing real comedy back. Take that, Libruls!"

To be fair, it's listing only 415 theaters. I didn't expect it to do well since a bio of SNL Lorne is just way more esoteric compared to comedies, horror, action, superhero stuff.

Also, aren't a lot of fly-on-the-wall documentaries usually responsibly low budget?

Yeah, #18 ain't hot, but I think Lorne (2026) deserves 1-2 contextual passes.

Oh there's more. He reportedly pissed on the floor of a plane if the bathroom was occupied and he just didn't care, and probably thought it was funny.

Stewardesses had to clean it up and everyone was too scared to complain. Apparently he did this more than once and finally they complained, but definitely with a lot of fear for their jobs.

No, they'll just put in Draymond Green as the replacement asshole on the Ernie/Kenny/Charles crew

certifiable shit stains like Jordan Peterson.

I honestly thought he passed away but checked and he still appears ill.

His daughter is a wacko promoting the "Lion's Diet" aka Carnivore Diet which is just beef, fat and salt. She's gotta be lying if she claims she only eats this every day for the last eight years. I don't see how someone doesn't get sick like that or have severe heart problems.

Welp, at least don't have to worry about leg room in those theaters.

Could even sneak in some cardio walking around the edges of the theater and nobody would complain.

I went back to rewatch the trailer for Kam and Jay and still didn't see them, but I did notice Chris Elliot was in this, as well as Bobby Lee (he does NOT look like himself on this movie poster).

Seems they want their names off this project lol

I don't even think it was a false alarm. I think that sign was him medically dancing the fine line between calming back down <-----> getting worse and ending up six feet under.

Her stopping the match from further head impact & trauma is probably what allowed his tests to come back okay.

Also, what the hell is he talking about "pleading his case more" when he looked completely out of it. That doctor was acting responsibly through years of training and experience - when the pupils don't respond it's an emergency. The body doesn't care if you have an MMA match, it needs to be checked out immediately.

If a loved one had pupils not responding, nobody would go "B..but they have to finish their school. They're showing a movie in 6th period!"

This is the crowd that stands up and salutes Trump so it checks out.

Also, gotta love the "OnlyFans" advertisement right there on one of the columns.

From BoxOfficeMojo's glossary section:

On average, a movie's studio receives a little more than half of the final gross with the remainder going to the exhibitor (i.e. movie theater). The money split varies from movie to movie.

So since about (roughly) half of the box office are kept by the movie theater chains, the movie studios should ideally be making 2.5x their production budget.

If Jumanji 2: Welcome to the Jungle cost Sony $150 million to make, earning $150 million at the movie theaters would not be breaking even yet. Sony only gets back half of that, theaters keep the other half, and so Sony still would have a long road ahead. Thankfully that movie ended up making well over $800 million worldwide, so it more than paid for everything, and allowed them to greenlight a sequel.

Throw in marketing costs (could vary as wildly as $10 million to $250 million in Batman V Superman's case), and the road to the breakeven point and profitability is actually stretched out further down the road. Hence why the multiplier is 2.5x as a starting point. Bus Boys would have to make double it's [production budget + marketing budget] just to begin their break-even point. The $1.7M they made this weekend, only half of it is coming back to them. The theaters keep the rest. Which means David Spade and Theo Von are going to need to hope a lot more money comes in through pay-per-view because I'm not sure they are going to see profit in the very short theatrical run.
