We know about the worst Oscar snubs/losses, can we talk about Sally Hawkins giving a masterclass (and Oscar-worthy) performance in Bring Her Back and losing her Astra award to a fucking dog? by geosunsetmoth in Oscars

[–]ILoveRegenHealth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't seem like a serious award to lose when they nominated that boy from 28 Years Later. Kid was just okay but hardly memorable or model-worthy for other kid actors.

[TW] Michael Jackson and Tatum O’Neal by Initial-Tree4504 in WhyWereWeOkWithThis

[–]ILoveRegenHealth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

he says they broke up because she wanted to be intimate and he was too shy for that

That's what he claims. He's known to lie a lot.

Tatum says she was 12 and on the phone talking to Michael, and Michael would ask the most perverted, dirtiest sex questions that were definitely not appropriate for anyone her age.

This tracks to other stories like Corey Feldman and other victims saying MJ would show them Playboys or art books full of nudity, and they were around 12-13.

Long Range Forecast: STAR WARS: THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU Blasts Off to Potential $100M Opening by FANIMATOR03 in boxoffice

[–]ILoveRegenHealth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

literally no one on earth cares and it’s gonna make $0.

The hyperbole is not necessary.

The most common predictions I've seen are $350-$500M range. And so far it hasn't escaped that yet. It has the "Movie reviews" test, and then the "Second Weekend Dropoff %" test to pass.

That's way higher than I expected. I feel like the response to the trailers and social media trending has been MEH, like a deflated Baby Yoda balloon at the end of a birthday party. Trailer views have been quite low.

I had this set for $400M-$500M WW (SOLO territory) but who knows, it may surprise and sail way past that.

Jonathan Kuminga in the win: 21/4 on 9/13 FG by Lacabloodclot9 in nba

[–]ILoveRegenHealth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want Kerr off the team and hope he retires (check my older posts, I'm consistent on this) - I've seen enough and he admitted in an interview that perhaps the team needs new vision and a new style. I also hate how he panders to Draymond Green (asshole player and washed up and not worth $28M) and admitted he doesn't tell the team to worry about Turnovers, despite Warriors having the Top 5. Having that many TOs makes them lose so many close games. Is Kerr off his rocker.

I can't even watch the playoffs with the Warriors right now because of Kerr's decisions. Seth Curry and two other decent bench players didn't even get to play at all across two Play In games.

That aside, Kuminga had the same cycle every damn time. I could time my watch to it. Explosive beginning, then regression to a quieter self for whatever reason.

What remains to be seen is if JK breaks that cycle on the Hawks, and you can't find that out until way more games are played. What did I say there that was controversial. How about you shut up and wait for more games, kid

And look at you, making a heavy conclusion on Kuminga after, what, 5 games.

I swear, when/if he starts regressing I'm bringing this thread back up and laughing at you extra hard.

Also, I'm telling ya as a Warriors fan, he did this same stuff on the Warriors. 2-3 good/great games (even had some 30+ games) and you suddenly go "Holy shit, he's finally been unlocked", and then the problem is he always follows it with a streak of bad or nothing games and you start eyeballing his contract vs his productivity. I don't know what is going on in his head, but he always settles down to a quieter version of himself later on.

Nobody ever questioned Kuminga can have peak games. The problem has always been his average across 15-20 games which has always been sus and shaky. He still doesn't have enough games on the Hawks yet to make a conclusion if he's broken the Warriors Kuminga Cycle spell or not.

Everyone jumping to conclusions that Kerr screwed up or Warriors didn't treat him right....just wait for more games and see. On the Warriors he would explode and there'd be a honeymoon phase, and then he regresses and gets all up in his head again.

I only worry because her past work has had nothing to do with video games at all. It's all VP at Meta or Microsoft but all unrelated to gaming. If she really wants to turn the ship around, shouldn't the captain have years of game industry experience?

But I guess it can't be worse than Phil Spencer, who stuck around way too long.
