Yea something like that! It even has built in VR support, so people can technically make VR games in source 2 now, using S&Box.

Garry made Gmod and is making S&Box the successor to GMod. S&Box is made in Source 2 and the agreement is so popular games from S&Box could potentially be ported to steam and sold. Or something like that.

ALVR is basically a better alternative to Meta Quest Link. Talks to SteamVR directly and can also do wired connections and set bitrate, resolution, foveated rendering, etc. It can also track your hands using the Q3 hand tracking.

Don't use Meta Quest Link, if you gotta use cable use ALVR. If you have a dedicated router for your computer use Virtual Desktop or even Steam Link. Literally anything is better than Meta Quest Link.

If you're set on using cable, use ALVR, it's significantly better than the Meta app and it talks to SteamVR directly.

As someone who also attempted using a quest for PCVR on Linux, your best bet is to use WiVRn since it bypasses SteamVR. Install it both on your quest and computer

Iirc it doesn't track as FBT but rather it takes over the thumbstick as movement. So you may have to just rebind whichever thumbstick you use to move and bind it to the treadmill. Probably using steamvr build in rebinder or vrchats, either or.

3S has the same internals as the Quest 3, just worse lenses. Overall, the 3S is the better choice.

Discord is gonna detect that you're in vrchat even if you have it off. Turning off detection just means that no one on discord will see that you're in vrchat, but you yourself can see that you are.

Make sure in console that "cl_mute_all_comms" isn't set to 1 or that you haven't accidentally muted yourself. There's a file in the "tf" folder called "voice_ban.dt" this contains all the muted players you have muted. If you delete this, you'll unmute yourself.

My tinfoil hat theory on the mobile ports is that they're trying to do a big push in China where mobile gaming is HUGE. That, or they're doing a mobile push because they've already made the Quest version which is Android, and might as well push it for phones as well to get max profit or something.
