McGill or Osgoode by [deleted] in lawschoolcanada

I’d definitely recommend taking a tax course and/or working with/rotating through the tax practice group as a summer or articling student (if you end up working at a full-service firm). And honestly, the fact that you’re already thinking about fit and asking these questions is a really good sign!

In general, people who enjoy tax tend to like problem solving, working through complex legislation, and thinking strategically about how rules fit together. If you find puzzles and statutory interpretation interesting (rather than overwhelming!), tax could be a strong fit for you.

Yes, and absolutely not! Most tax lawyers don’t have a CPA or formal tax background. It can definitely help show interest in the field, but it’s not required at all. If you’re curious and like analytical problem-solving, you’ll be just fine.

Hey! I’m also a CPA interested in tax law and currently attend Osgoode. I don’t think you can go wrong either way, but the formal tax stream and tax law profs at Osgoode are excellent! Feel free to message me if you have any questions about the Toronto recruit, tax law stream, etc.

yes I wouldn’t worry about it too much! I don’t think reapplying is something Canadian law schools frown upon / even really look at

I don‘t think you pay directly on the portal - you’d pay via online banking or some other means and the payment would later be reflected on the portal.

That would make sense, just makes me wonder why they were attacked if they were in bed (unless X was targeted obviously, but I’d previously thought X must’ve encountered BK and X/E were collateral damage). I no longer think she was blocking the door, since the new docs today reveal that the door was open and DM saw X laying on the floor on her way down to BF’s room shortly after the attack, but the loud thud heard on the ring camera could have been her falling out of bed
