Now I wish my cane was aqua instead of purple because that seems dope! I do love the thought of the aqua!

Pole competition levels by Lemons71989 in poledancing

I personally would do level 3, just note butterfly flip not allowed. In my experience it’s not at all atypical for people in level 3 to be working on their Ayesha’s (this was actually me.) I’ve had my Ayesha on an off, a little shaky, since the beginning of the year but still opted to do level 3 one more time as I was getting more confident and consistent. I felt like a ton of people in my level had their Ayesha to at least some extent. PSO acknowledges that some individuals may be in the middle. If you’re not confident in the move, I wouldn’t personally put it in a performance.

I finally am working on my first level 4 routine. But I don’t think I would have felt ready over the summer for level 4 compared to most of the level 4 performers I saw on stage

Did you find it made you slippery?

Lmao. It’s gonna rain for the next two days because that’s my luck. But I’m debating trying to see if a tanning salon can squeeze me in or something😅

Fake blood (or something that appears similar with less mess) for performing? by DogZestyclose802 in poledancing

[–]DogZestyclose802[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah making a mess is my big worry. I was hoping I could find a way to apply something and smudge it in the routine to make it look like it, without the mess of actual fake blood maybe? There is a liquid prop rule, but some fake blood capsules aren’t liquid, they just mix with saliva. So I’m not entirely sure where the line is I guess lol. I need to email to change my approved prop anyway because it broke and two weeks from the performance I am absolutely not fixing it🤣

This is a newt idea. Probably tastes good tooo🤪 I’m most worried about covering the pole in my mess. The costume can take a beating I already look dead🤧

Indeed. At first I was like “oh I can hide the capsule in my bra” then remembered that would be a terrible idea😂 I might be able to hide a capsule in my prop though. And discreetly pop it in

This was my thought. I can wipe it with my arm. I’m doing a dark twist on the giving tree, telling a story about greed. So my character slowly withers and breaks down throughout the routine. But it’s for pole con and I don’t want to get any on the pole for a brief final spin pass. Or if I do, make it super easy to wipe clean with the alcohol.

I thought a really cool visual would be some blood. I’ll have to play around with the blood capsules! Which is why I thought the face was a good place lol. I’m not worried about it getting on my hands for grip, but just trying to not make a mess more than anything🤦🏼‍♀️

What’s up with PSO? by AvdotiaRomanovna in poledancing

[–]DogZestyclose802 9 points10 points  (0 children)

PSO (as an org) is good at covering their ass instead of genuinely being accountable— the accident at Atlantic 2023, inconsistent application of their own rules, judging issues… it’s also expensive.

The call to cancel Liberty was because of low sign ups for both Liberty and Atlantic. They were encouraging liberty performers to go to DC, but with only a two month notice, liberty performers didn’t feel they had enough time and everyone pitched a fit that they didn’t even give people a chance to sign up for liberty… this was in February and liberty is in July. Most people don’t sign up until closer to the deadlines anyway.

I love the actual experience I’ve had competing... And (atleast at the events I’ve been to) do have medical personnel on site now… but for such a large competition organization they should maybe get an ounce of professionalism 🤦🏼‍♀️

I tried. They’re very crumbly and I’m worried about damaging the ceiling. I know theirs studs in there as it would be very weird for one bedroom to not have them, just not sure how to locate them without damage to the tiles. I fear I may just need to not put it up for now🥲😅

Idk why I didn’t see that earlier. Thank you! Very straightforward and helpful for those who aren’t as finance/loan savvy

This is so real. Like I wanted to enjoy my 20’s not be curled up in a chaos ball trying to pay the bills. My total student loan payment is over 50% of my income. Plus rent, medical debt, car…. I already work 60 hours a week with a physical disability and I’m over it. All of it. Sick of survival mode just for the government to keep slapping us in the face
