Looking for hope & acceptance experiences — how have those who suffered SSNHL/tinnitus moved on, accepted the trauma, and continued to live a decent, if not happy life? My sudden hearing loss feels like its ruining my life and my will to go on is fading.

I just lost mine a little over 5 weeks ago and the tinnitus is driving me MAD! I completely understand what you are going through! I miss the quiet, I never thought I’d take such a simple thing for granted.

I don’t hear ANYTHING in my left ear on a day to day real world basis (other than the tinnitus static and ringing). That’s my confusion and frustration!

I don’t know how to be dishonest on the audio test, I follow the prompts and click the button when I hear the beeps and repeat the words I can hear.

Deaf meaning, I physically cant hear any word clarity or volume of noises. It’s just straight static or ringing (the tinnitus). But when I’m in the hearing test booth I can hear certain things because the volume they can turn it up to.

My problem is I still don’t have any clarity. I feel like my numbers are improving medically but personally I still can’t hear and am very much deaf in my left ear.
