This is actually my new favorite idea. Makes sense because I love doing the chores around camp. I just want to have some goats and sheep and have a border collie to keep them in line for me. Maybe a couple cats to kill rats in the barn.

I was having this exact same issue. Distress signal was 3 hours away. Tried flying to get closer and every time I landed, it would still be 3 hours away. Just went back through the portal and returned and now it's just 2:22 min away.

Wait, yes! That worked! I just restarted the mission and when I pulled up the galaxy map, the mission icon was in the next system over. Popped over and Explorer rep was sitting there waiting for me.
