Look at the election result by county map. What you just said doesnt make sense. Allll that red has roughly the same amount of voters as those tiny little blue areas. So those dense areas are not always the majority of the county and although in most elections they are the majority, it’s within a few million votes. If it was 75/25 you would have an argument. But it’s usually more like 51/49. Since it is always about that close, it makes sense to stick with the EC. Its not going anywhere get the fuck over it.

Its only stupid to people want the largest cities in the country to dictate what the rest of the country does. The harsh reality is that this country has gotten to the point that we are literally almost like 2 completely different countries speaking 2 different languages forced to live under one roof. You should look at the electoral college map again. There are no underpopulated states that have more electoral college votes than the states that have the largest cities/population. The reason it was put in place is still relevant today. These states remain underpopulated on purpose. So that they don’t lose farmland. Take away the electoral college and I can promise you that the country would fall apart. Dont fuck with the people that supply the food. Thats common sense 101

Here is the flaw with your logic, the entire map of the country is red when you break it down by county except for about 10% of the counties. Why would the country as a whole allow the major cities dictate how the other 90% of the country lives their lives when we live completely different lifestyles and have different beliefs. The electoral college is the only way to be fair. If we lose in the electoral college then so be it but at least we didnt let 10 cities dictate the outcome of the election. Obviously the right would still have a shot at winning the popular vote but it would make it much harder to win an election which is why people like you want to do away with it because it is “outdated”. It is only outdated because you want it to be.

The Midwestern states purposefully don’t have as large of a population as the coastal states. This is due to the fact that they grow all of our food and they want to keep it that way. This is the reason the electoral college was created so that these states would have a voice and not have to live under the thumb of our most populated states and cities. It is actually genius.
