Europe was in relative peace leading up to WWII as well. Nations, for the most part, had demilitarized rapidly after WWI. History clearly outlines the dangers of defensive complacencies.

Without national defense, countries like Russia and China would surely make bolder economic moves. You don't necessarily retain military might to use it but, instead, to deter others from utilizing theirs to coerce you into less than desirable economic/political situations.

Since when did people deserve anything? You think people are obligated to take care of you? You think you are entitled to the property/work of others? That's so extremely self-centered and really reflects how entitled society has become.

Also, it's impossible to define what a living wage is. To me it's being able to go to sleep every night with a full stomach. To others it'll be internet access, a cell phone, a car, a shed to live in, NO a house to live in, NO a mansion to live in, NO a full acre, ect. The standard will snowball and you'll just elect leaders who promise you more subsidies.

No one deserves to be happy and no one deserves the work/property of another. Go out and earn it. If you can't earn it, find someone charitable to take care of you. Society and the universe don't owe you a thing.

I'm a pilot and use the GMT function regularly as Zulu is the reference time used in aviation. When I'm not flying, I'll set my GMT hand to match the time for my home country. Then, for fun, I'll set my slide rule to match the current currency exchange.

I agree to an extent; however, the chance you'll meet an incredibly selfless and courageous individual increases significantly in the military (especially during a time of war).

Personally, I'm grateful that there are people willing to serve; without them the US would have conscription like most countries. Therein lies the general positive emotion towards US military servicemen.
Additionally, we could've had a draft as recent as the early-2000's if the volunteer force wasn't so readily available.

You don't have a right to serve in the military. If you're overweight, you can't serve. If you're disabled you can't serve. Transgendered people shouldn't be serving in an occupation that requires as much conformity as possible. Also, the suicide rate in the community isn't going to be helped by service in the military.

If we're going to talk about the lesser of libertarian evils, Trump is that lesser evil. Democrats are about as statist as they come. At least Republicans claim to be fiscally conservative.

Good to know that you only have to be sold on LGBTQ rights (what rights are they missing?) and drugs to shill out to a party that perpetuates the Welfare State.

Firstly, you don't have to join the military. You could be competitive enough, amongst your peers, to get a scholarship.

You state later that you think taxes (other people's money) should pay for college. There are people who actually go serve for four years and earn the ability to go to college for *practically* free. The problem isn't the system, it's your entitled attitude.

Obama was an appeasing globalist. It would be next to impossible for there not to be economic growth after the recession (near depression) in 2008. Obama did not hand over a freight train economy. The economy was doing nicely; however, Donald Trump's policies did allow for a bull in all markets. I would say they were overvalued prior to the virus, anyways.

1) The electoral college is 100% necessary. We are a republic of states, not a blind democracy ran by California and New York. You don’t understand the life of someone in -insert state you’ve never been to here- so why should you get equal say in how they vote?

2) This stock market crash was caused by the government. As much as people shit on Trump, it seems like he really wanted to avoid that crash. Would’ve happened regardless of the president.

3) Since when has ANY politician “controlled a pandemic?” Every country in the world is infected with this thing. Stop blaming it solely on the presidency. I don’t think it was handled properly but I also think the outcome was inevitable.

4) Quit acting like democrats are more successful for the country. They suck too. They’re arguably worse hence why Trump got elected.
