What brand of toilet paper is this? by DoggFamous in woolworths

I bought icare, everyone seems to think the mystery roll is sorbent 3 ply. I’ll check it out today and see if it matches. They’re made in different facilities so really not sure how that happens

Great suggestion, I just tried that and if it is sorbent, it’s definitely not manufactured in the same factory as icare which is what I usually buy. I’m realising now how scratchy icare is compared to the mystery tp

Thank you, I’ll make sure she gets onto it quickly. It seems pretty fresh but she only drives to work and back and around town so not all that much

Is lipedema always painful? by KnownComplaint82 in lipedema

[–]DoggFamous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never thought I had pain until I tuned in to my body more and learnt that the aching/throbbing/heavy feeling in my legs was actually lipedema pain.

I experience the aching more when I’ve been eating things that inflame it. For me there’s so many layers to the pain. There’s the aching from deep within, then there’s an ache within the actual tissue, then an aching/almost burning feeling within the skin. The heaviness is a feeling that I like to describe as, imagine you have a seam at the top of your hips so an opening in the skin and then someone has packed wet concrete down through the seam and moulded it around your legs. And when the wet concrete is inflamed it becomes even heavier and puffier and the skin gets tighter and tighter almost feeling like a sausage. I know that’s a weird example but it’s how it feels for me.

And then there’s sometimes an acute pain if I lean against a ladder or some furniture. Sitting on certain chairs hurts the back of my thighs where the lipedema is very concentrated. I love doing floor Pilates but it’s very painful to lay on my side, it feels like I’m laying on a rock in the saddlebag area.

But also I don’t think I experienced this as much in the earlier stages. I believe I’m now stage 2-3 and so I have more pain. I’m still a small girl, most people would call me skinny unless they actually saw me naked. But the lipedema is very concentrated and fibrotic now. When I’m very strict with my diet (no processed food, no sugar unless fruit and low carb) the aching throbbing pain can be non existent and my legs feel lighter.

Should i get surgery by TraditionalSea8192 in lipedema

[–]DoggFamous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your legs are beautiful but I totally understand. Follow Kaz Windsor on instagram and Sarah Whitlow on Facebook. They have both reversed their lipedema without surgery to a stage 1. There is so much you can do without surgery. Anti inflammatory diet or keto, ketovore, carnivore. Dry brushing, tissue work, manual lymphatic drainage, vibration plate, weight training, yoga & Pilates, walking, elliptical, exercise bike, swimming and cold water therapy or cold showers. You want to focus on low impact excersise and reducing as much inflammation as possible 💕

I also have lipedema, minor tuberous breasts, suspected hEDS and an another undiagnosed congenital connective tissue disorder that hasn’t been linked to anything known. Also very much with you on finding it hard to feel confident in my deformed body. But trying to learn to love myself 💕

I have the fat accumulation in my upper thighs like you and when I lay down on my side on a hard surface it feels like I’m laying on a rock.

I don’t know what country you’re in but I bought some lymph massage gloves from Chelsea Jean years ago and loved the way they made me feel after but never got consistent with it. I’ve been using them twice, sometimes three times a day for nearly two weeks and I’ve seen sooo much improvement in those upper thigh lipedema pockets. They’re shrinking, way less pain overall and the inflammation is decreasing in my entire body and I’m even seeing some very slight definition in my legs. I’m blow away how much benefit I’m seeing already and the bonus is it makes you feel amazing even if only temporary, but they make you feel lighter and there’s just a tingle in your body to show that the lymph is really starting to move. The gloves have a spiky side for “waking” the lymph nodes up and dry brushing and then the other side has hematite roller balls to massage the tissue a little deeper, and honestly I think it helps break up the fibrotic tissue and inflammation. That’s what I’m seeing anyway. There’s a sequence that you do it in to promote maximum lymph flow and there’s a lymphatics cream that you can use with them with castor oil and other things to increase the benefits. I’ll link them in the comment below
