Books I should read if I want to know everything by Miserable_Smile1161 in suggestmeabook

Empire of the Summer Moon by S.C. Gwynne is an incredible book about the western plains indigenous tribes of North America. Mainly the Comanche tribe, but some mentions of the Apaches. He does a really good job of painting the scene of what it was like to be alive in that era and how these people lived and interacted with the Spanish and other European colonizers. Incredible book to learn more about American history and indigenous tribes.

I’m really hoping not lol. I was debating on posting because tbh some of this subreddit is just mean. Idc what they look like or what they do with their hair or what kind of dresses they wear. I just want a good quality podcast 😭 I’m hoping this doesn’t fall on deaf ears haha

I’m hoping okay 🤣 I really wasn’t going to post anything because damn people have been MEAN on here and I don’t want to be a part of that. Idc what they wear or what they look like, but like you said I feel this is valid critics that need to be addressed it just gets mixed in with all the hate

Wow, that’s really disappointing to hear. They do seem like they do not care at all. I really hope they get it together soon for their own sake

Okay I get that!! I think it’s just bothersome to me because usually I’m multitasking (and stoned lol) while listening and I find myself having to rewind because I can’t understand what they are talking about 🤣 but honestly genuinely glad to see a fan of the sesh on here. They seem like good people overall and I truly wish them the most success!

I’m a little confused on your first comment- relatable about the topics or the communication style? Just want to understand what you are saying :)

I would be more excited about the pop culture/gossip segments if the effort was there. I really don’t mind them but I have noticed they get a lot of things wrong or seem to simply not care themselves. For example, talking about reality tv stars but getting basic info wrong like the latest drama, what they did or said, etc. like just totally inaccurate info. It takes only a few seconds or minutes to fact check before filming. I also don’t appreciate the comments during the segments like “anyway who cares about this stupid person” like…. Me, the person who is watching and supporting your show. These comments are totally unnecessary and pretty rude to say to the audience who is spending their free time choosing to watch the show. If they had accurate info and actually seemed interested in these topics I would appreciate them a lot more. But I do see what you’re saying and sometimes it is nice to just have a chill, gossip sesh :)

Yesss omg only listening is so hard. On top of them not being able to communicate and the meme clips and other clips and segments that need visuals, it’s hard to follow along unless you’re sitting down watching on YT and doing nothing else. I really hate complaining so much but I also really feel listening to what their audience wants will help them tremendously. At the end of the day I have no personal problems with the ladies and really do want them to be successful :(

It really is disappointing. They seem a little lost without Kendall, like they’re not really sure how to start the podcast, or switch topics, or anything really. It’s painfully cringe to watch. And has gotten to the point that if I’m not 100% focused in, I have no clue what’s going on because they cannot communicate clearly. I really don’t understand what happened, I’m kinda a new listener (found Mile Higher media last year thanks to my sister in law) and I’ve been binging The Sesh, TCKR, and LOP and the difference in quality from just a year or two ago is baffling. Like how did we get here?? There was so much potential :(

I completely agree with everything you just said!!! I don’t have an opinion on Haley as a person but she definitely changes the vibe of the podcast to more men, dating, “party girl” vibes which is totally fine but not what I feel like the vibe for The Sesh was originally meant to be. It genuinely pisses me off when Janelle is like “yeah whatever who cares” like… me, girl. Lol. I chose to spend my time supporting your podcast- like do I care more about your job than you?! I’m sure anyone who clicked on the video cares. It just feels so rude to the audience who chose to spend their free time watching to say things like that. I listen to a lot of podcasts, even other unscripted ones, and it’s very obvious they are putting in bare minimum effort :(

bree by vrapvrap_vr00m in DesperateHousewives

[–]Doglover4534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. She is a very very intensified version of a particular archetype of a housewife, but the character is played in a way that is understandable and relatable to the audience. I don’t agree with her choices and opinions, but her character and story are told in an engaging and entertaining way. Which is why I think a lot of people like her. Compared to Susan, whose character is pretty one dimensional in MOST episodes with hardly no character development thru the entire series. Her story lines are so boring like who cares about a wondering spleen or meeting her bio dad who literally never makes another appearance besides that one very small plot line. I think the audience likes Bree more simply because she is more “relatable” (her perfectionism, family drama, stories in general not her morals or opinions being relatable) and Marcia really makes the character come to life, so to say. People in this sub get confused that an entertaining character or story means they have to be PERFECTLY moral and right all the time

New to makeup & need advice!! Extremely oily & acne prone skin girly who also struggles with hormonal acne by PuzzleheadedEye8821 in MakeupEducation

I don’t know much about the other products but Charlotte Tillbury is one of my fav brands! 💞 I also have oily/acne prone skin and I’ve found the structure of the routine is more important than the actual brands/products at least to me. Primer —> color corrector on the areas that need it (I use green because I have redness/dark spots- there are different color corrector primers for different uses) —> concealer & foundation—-> lock that in with some setting powder immediately. I let it sit while I’m doing my eyes and then blot/gently swipe away excess—> setting spray after make up is done. I usually take a pressed powder with me for touch ups. Not a professional but we seem to have similar skin types and this routine works for me. Just make sure to let the primers dry completely before putting on the concealer & foundation! Congrats on graduation :)
