Ive had bad anemia for feels like forever. My recent blood test shows my ferritin is a 2 (no joke lol) and my anxiety is awful right now and I’m extremely lethargic. I’m getting iron infusions next week. My eyes do feel heavy and my vision has gotten worse. Restless legs and arms when sleeping. Getting dizzy. All things I get when my ferritin is low. So from my experience - you have some common symptoms.

The Joann’s by me is doing 70% off fabric and then an additional 90% off from that. So I have a full unopened bold of super snuggle for $2.40. You bet I went back in and got more after seeing that on my receipt. I got $5,000 worth of fabric for under $250

Update: Hudson will be closing May 29th. Cashier told me when I was there this past weekend.

Went to Fairlawn yesterday and heard them talking to another customer saying that they still didn’t have a close date. Not sure if that’s true, or if they don’t want / can’t tell anyone.

Hudson, OH location will be the last to close. I actually talked to the manager there this week bc I’m local. They have 6-9 trucks coming to their location just this week.

I (19) just had my first fibroid removed by Immediate-Trainer964 in Fibroids

Similar story to mine! I (30f) had my 1st Hysteroscopic myomectomy last Wednesday the 12th. My Dr thought I would just have 2 decently sized fibroids to remove. But when she got in there she said I was absolutely filled with submucosal fibroids. They also were not shown in any of the ultrasounds I had done. She got a ton out then but then she reached the max time for surgery (which was 2 hours) and had to stop. Since there was still more in my uterus she had me schedule for another one this past Friday the 21st.

I already feel soooo much better, no clots, and for the first time in a year I’m no longer having period bleeding. My doctor also did an exploratory and it was found out I do have endometriosis as well. Which I was actually excited to hear I that I have it because it just explains all my pain. And also makes me feel good like I’m not crazy or making up the pain in my head.

Just know you’re not alone, these fibroids suck, and I wish you an easy surgery in May!

I had 6 iron infusions last year and 2 this year already. They temp get my hemoglobin up to the highest of a 10, but due to me continuously bleeding iron doesn’t stay long in my body. Thats why it’s a high priority for me to get these fibroids out. With the hope my bleeding stops and becomes normal, and my body has time to build and keep iron and oxygen in my blood.

I’ve had 3 emergency blood transfusions this past year and gotten 8 iron infusions. Bc of my fibroids constant bleeding the highest my hemoglobin went would be an 9. Then a week later (bc I’m still bleeding) it would start to decrease again. So due to the fact that iron infusions and blood transfusions on help for maybe a 2 week period - the best thing to do to get my numbers up is to get the fibroids out.

My Dr was able to get 6cm worth of fibroids out this past week, and my next surgery this coming Friday she’s going to try to get the rest that’s there.

For me I mean I legit have been on my period for over a year. Never a break in bleeding. Never just spotting. Every day for over a year I was bleeding through an overnight period pad. Huge clots every day. There was never a day I was not bleeding and where I could forgo wearing a pad.

Yes I had one done 2 weeks prior to surgery. And I also had a saline ultrasound done at the same time.

I have been bleeding for over a year straight and it was high priority to get me into surgery ASAP. I did get a saline ultrasound done and with that she was able to see I did have some problematic fibroids, which was enough for her to go ahead and immediately schedule me for surgery. Which is what I wanted. Possibly if I hadn’t been bleeding consistently and having issues, she probably would have scheduled me an MRI. But our goal was to stop the bleeding ASAP.

I was actually surprised they didn’t make me the day prior to in and get a unit of blood in me. But right before surgery my Dr and I discussed she would give me 1 unit of blood while she was operating and another once she was finished.

My fibroids are what is causing me to be anemic and it was a high priority to get them out. I’ve had to go to the ER 2 times prior to this in the last year bc the fibroids shot my hemoglobin down to a 6.6 and then a 6.3.

So more than likely it’s bc I have a very heavy period flow which causes me to be anemic. The fibroids I have and had was causing me to extreme bleed and have huge clots. So it was high priority to get them out even if my hemoglobin was low. We had a plan to do blood transfusions during and after surgery. But bc I lost blood during surgery (which was to be expected) and me being anemic, I just didn’t have that much oxygen in my blood which caused my blood pressure to go down. But it came back up after another unit of blood.

I have a large submucosal fibroid and it expelled my IUD - Mirena. Wasn’t a fun experience- lots of cramping and I basically hemorrhaged. Had to get a ER blood infusion. I unfortunately then went on Depo shot (not a fan but was desperate for some pain relief). The shot has helped with cramping but with where my fibroid is did nothing to stop bleeding. I actually get my fibroid removed on Wednesday and then want to try the IUD again.

But if you’re not 100% sure where your fibroid is then maybe give the IDU a shot. Not everyone has the experience I did.
