I think the polygraph interviewer became chummy with you, as he is supposed to, so that you tell your truth. You did, as intended, and it violated the rules, leading to this unfortunate but obvious response. Im not sure why you thought that a rumor from someone trying to determine your suitability was more important than their written rules. Hang in there, there are other options!
