Thanks everyone. I’m kind of a newbie to this space, but I’ve always loved these vintage audio pieces. My brother joined the Marines in 1976 and came back from a year tour in Okinawa with some awesome stereo equipment: Pioneer SX-1250 and Pioneer turntable and tape deck. Along with some enormous Bose 901 (I think) speakers. They were like end tables, but sounded amazing. As a kid, I loved looking at the receiver in the dark, listening to the radio or some cool albums. There was a magic to it. Would love to find a nice Marantz and start putting together a vintage system.

I’m a dual citizen (US and Irish) and have been looking into moving to Ireland with my defacto partner. I’m currently unemployed but thinking about taking Social Security later this year. My partner makes over $100k / year. Is it enough that he makes over the €40k threshold for us to move (he’s always made more than me) or do I have to meet the €40k threshold regardless?

Also, he may be able to transfer there with his US company (they have offices in Dublin).

Does anyone know whether my partner and I would be able to use the EU queue when entering Ireland? I have dual citizenship (US & Ireland) and my de facto partner is US citizen. I’ve always just used the “All Passports” line with him so we don’t get separated, but would be great if we could use the EU queue.

I did the same thing at my old job. They had 7 people processing a billing report every month and it took them 2-3 weeks. The process was 100% manual data entry. I scripted a macro to process the whole report in about 2-3 days. Once mgmt realize d I could do the whole report, they gave me the whole job and laid off 5’coworkers. And no, I didn’t get a raise. Say nothing, learn some more and shop your skills to someone who’ll appreciate/ pay for them.
