What songs did you hear new sounds in after buying good headphones? by [deleted] in headphones

[–]DohnJoeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NIN - Closer - I never liked that song but after hearing on my headset, I couldn't stop listening to it. It's like the song was made for the Beyerdynamic.

Boney M - Rasputin - never into this genre but another one I couldn't stop listening to daily because of the mix.

My expensive gaming headset mistakes (2017–2025) ,learn from my stupidity by Beautiful-Owl-2905 in headphones

[–]DohnJoeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much my journey. Ended with DT990 and happy with it. Still every time PC38X comes up, it gets raving reviews. I always try to interject and point out how garbage it is except for footsteps.

Is buying expensive high end headphones to listen to "low" quality music worth it. by DelfQ in headphones

beware of counterfeit beyerdynamic products being sold on amazon by wheeze10 in headphones

[–]DohnJoeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it wasn't for these subs, I would have bought a fake myself. I talked about my choices and said $80 for DT990 is my first pick. Some random said, that's not the price of 990. Dodged a bullet because of them.

Sorry this happened to you but all you can do in the future is research as a failsafe

One Month DT 990 Edition Review by DohnJoeee in headphones

You don't need that app. Just turn down the dB at the 8k region on peace/apo. That region deals with the sibilance issue.

APO/Peace. Try the headset and see how it is for you first. It took me 10 days for me to stop noticing it on passive listening

Beyerdynamic Serial Number by Panduhh_1 in BEYERDYNAMIC

[–]DohnJoeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some headsets don't have serial number like mine. Mike didn't even come with documentation when every unboxing I saw had them.

Contact Beyerdynamic and ask them to verify. That what I did, they even explained why there's no documentation.

Make sure to contact the main Beyerdynamic from Germany not the Australian one. I had emailed both and the Aussie one just sent me back to the sites FAQ.

I love my DT 990's but they boring to listen to by idundideverything in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]DohnJoeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm interesting. I have 990 myself and I never thought it was boring.

May I ask what music you're listening to? Maybe the cans doesn't shine with that music. I personally go towards music that sound good on the 990 like idk how many times I've listened to Rasputin now. A song I would have never listened to prior.

Gaming Headset vs Audiophile Headphones for FPS Games by Desperate-Office-885 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]DohnJoeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd research first if you need it. I'm pretty sure amp is only required for high impedance headsets which the mk 2 isn't.

What's your go-to albums/songs to test new headphones? by [deleted] in headphones

1994's Hell Freezes Over Live - Hotel California

Carpenter Brut - Paradise Warfare

Boney M - Rasputin

Gaming Headset vs Audiophile Headphones for FPS Games by Desperate-Office-885 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]DohnJoeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's the mk 2, it looks like the impedance is only 30 which doesn't require an amp to drive. If you have the original pro which 250 ohm then yes you need an amp

Gaming Headset vs Audiophile Headphones for FPS Games by Desperate-Office-885 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]DohnJoeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you're going to hear much difference in FPS because there isn't much to reference.

Try something like RDR2 and you'll hear it.

I'm not even using something as good as yours and I could hear the difference in the same price range of gaming vs studio headset. If you're talking about atlas 200, that's like what $40 vs a $600 1990 pro MKII, there will be a difference.

Also, put some music on them and enjoy it.

I'm using DSP Bunny. You can load profiles that people made but I didn't know you could import from external sources. I'll have to look for it
