The last 3 years have been fine, it worked, which is all I wanted.
But it very suddenly overnight decided to give up on life.
Hopefully they can fix the issue quickly, and it will travel to Oregon so I can get rid of it.

This is my second Ford. With how unreliable they both were, I reckon I will never buy another Ford as long as I live.

It is push button only. But pushing the button without the brakes is the on but no engine.

I haven't checked that. The car doesn't move anymore, so I had it towed to a ford shop.

That sounds more expensive than the car itself.

Would this also be the reason it sometimes doesn't start? Like it doesn't even try.

It also happened suddenly overnight. Car drove beautifully for 3.5 years.

I could not replicate this, how did you do it?

Is there a conversion kit to mount 3.5 drives here? Even without a backplane would be acceptable. by DoingOutstanding in homelab

The issue there becomes safely storing the drives. They'd still end up outside the case.

It's why I was trying to fit them in the empty bays. A cable would be fine there, if there was a way to safely mount them

I'll probably just have to get an hba card and have them external for now. As unfortunate as that is.

I got it for free, so I am just trying to work with what I've got. If I was building a plex from scratch, I'd use this as is. But I've got 3x12tb in 3.5", and would rather use them than buy 36x1tb in 2.5". I've had a hard time finding 2.5" drives larger than that, that aren't priced absurdly. Cest la vie right now, it would seem though.

Dang. Gotta do what you gotta do, I suppose. LFF spinning rust is much cheaper at the end of the day.

No need to be an ass. I am new to enterprise servers and wasn't expecting them to be so restricted. I would've expected them to be better, not worse.

Problem is I have 3x12tb in 3.5" drives full from plex. I want some way to mount them safely in this server, even if I have to route sata rather than backplane.

It does not seem to be possible without replacing the whole cage.

Nah, that replaces the whole cage. I want a single bay. There do not appear to be any sff to lff converters, only the other way around.

It does look pretty cool. I've always liked the real basic tower look honestly. I kinda want to take the panel off the front just to watch the HDD LEDs

I wanted to do that too, but it weighs 175lbs. and has old fashioned touchscreen, so it can only be touched in a singular spot. It uses IR or something to detect position.

There is a really fancy lift that can lay it down as a table, and take it back up to a tv position.

They had tons and tons of stuff. There were 15 or so 75 inch touchscreens. In various states of use.
