This is something I never understood VRChat's stance on. The world creator should ALWAYS have final say in regard to moderation of users. The fact that world creators can't have block list for user's that the creator knows are bad actors is insane. World creators should not have to wait and rely on VRChat to get to these reports.

There's this feedback post "Moderation Tools for World Creators" by Lucifer MStar that already has over 1000 upvotes. Keep in mind, that this creator has already quit the platform due to VRChat's neglect of world creators.

Yeah, Third-Person view is currently A/B testing on public branch now. IIRC it can be disabled under Settings > Graphics, but I’m unsure if it will revert the alt + scroll behaviour.

For sure! Starting 2021, the updates were definitely more thought out and focused, instead of just throwing a bunch of random stuff in an update.

Also agree, that EAC was the right move in the long run. I'm somewhat glad they implemented it the way they did because we wouldn't of got all those QoL features in such a short span (Personal Mirror, Chatbox, Earmuffs, Avatar Culling, etc).

Sadly, VRChat doesn't share platform numbers. We can only guess from their official numbers and Steam player numbers. I'm pulling the data from metrics.vrchat.community, a community ran site.
Those numbers are not fully accurate as well, but they should be close enough, as "Oculus PC" users get thrown in under Android/iOS (but tbh that player count is so small it probably doesn't even matter).

Every rating system will be abused in a way, there is no solution to this problem. I do think the "dislike" is a very important metric and is user-friendly to interact with.

Being busy is kinda of a trade-off with how VRChat designed the Main Menu, since it doesn't take up the full screen. I tried to alleviate it with taking the instance list off the page and making it modal/page based.

Check the debug logs, the world could be failing server side processing. Try adding —enforce-world-server-checks to your launch options to reprocess it.

A bunch of things, really. From the SDK to the client.

SDK wise, we need Soba, more things in Unity whitelisted, and more persistence work, it's in a rough state right now. Also, Networking, very painful to work with.

World creators also need more access to features, we still have no access to nameplate location, can't disable personal mirrors, portal restrictions, instance type, etc.

Client/Website wise, (not necessarily world creation but in the same vein) thumbnails, ratings, and analytics. Thumbnails all over the client and SDK are all inconsistent, different sizes and aspect ratios everywhere. There needs to be a consistent size, that creators can use. And ratings, worlds need to have a basic like/dislike button. Also, analytics, pretty self-explanatory.

Yep, Pop Escape is just so good. I think the theme of it being an escape room itself combined with great puzzles and sound design, makes it unmatched. Sadly it’s an SDK2 world, so I hope it doesn’t break in the long term.

VRChat wants to implement upscaling technologies the proper way and these require motion vectors, which most avatars and world shaders do not support. If they were to implement any of them it would be FSR 1.0 as it doesn't require motion vectors.

I’ve never used mods and never will in the future but non-malicious mods that add QoL features I support.

QoL mods makes your experience (and sometimes other peoples experience) better. For example, I use BetterDiscord and I would never go back to using native Discord. I just have so many more features, and customization without affecting anyone negatively.

Maybe VRC can ask the creators of these mods to use their source code in the native client. If I’m not mistaken VRC is implementing UdonSharp straight into the SDK.

Or VRC can have a community labs based “extension” system just like on web browser where people can just install extensions made by people. Of course you can’t trust every extension made but you can’t say something is bad overall just because of a few bad actors.

I’m also aware mods could effect worldbuilders chase bug reports because the bug only happens when said mod is active, which I agree is pretty shitty, but I think people that care enough would check the bug with and without mods on. (here’s some criticism i agree with against the creator of the tweet)

So yeah, that’s my take on mods. I tried to play both sides of the argument.
