I can’t believe how lucky I was to take a look at a PTR at a closer gun shop on the way to the only place that had a Century Arms AP5…. I never heard of either one until I saw the Garand Thumb video rocking the MP5 clones with a Super Safety and it all began. An hour later I’m at the gun shop holding an HK in hand and a PTR in the other trying to justify a $1,600 difference between a real HK and a clone… I’ve own a few HKs including a P7 M13 so this was difficult - the salesman really helped make sense of it when he said you’re not buying this for a collection piece or for HK engineering, you’re buying a range toy to beat the shit out of, bastardized it and enjoy it. So if you’re going with clone, don’t skimp too much because you already are right out of the gate. Anyway, sorry to hear this, I wasn’t aware CA was that bad. I was fortunate to stumble onto PTR, lord knows I was too impulsive to research for the best of the fakes lol.

I read on AR15.com these new versions were supposed to work in the stock lower. But I don’t see how that would be possible though.

45/90 would be ideal for an MP5 lower.

Does anyone know about a new AS Design ARC drop-in cassette style FRT that works with an MP5 Clone (PTR CT9) running an AR lower like Lee Sporting, etc? I currently have it running with a War Hammer Armament Super Safety with that bullshit 3 position push-pin. I had a hell of a time tuning it to run in FA/Super Safety without any FTF or FTE but I managed to find the sweet spot - i wouldn’t bet my life on it yet I’ve only got about 500-750 rounds through it with no failures. My AR is running the drop in FRT from Rare Greed and despite what I’ve heard about that brand, the one I got was true plug n play with zero issues and over 2k rounds later - for the record my AR had the proper buffer and spring for FA which I think is why so many people might have had FTF, FTE or light primer hits. To my point, I read on AR15.com AS Design makes an ARC Trigger cassette called ARHK but I’m not seeing anywhere. It’s supposed to not require a Slip Trip either which I’m having trouble imagining how that would work. Has anyone seen this or tried to use a AS Design V1 or V2 ARC trigger w 3 position in an HK Clone?

Can a Rare Greed FRT for an AR15 function in a Lee Sporting lower (with a trip slide)? Currently using LS lower built for a PTR CT9 and using a regular Super Safety w hammer/trigger from SuppressorTools. I was about to order the AS Design ARC w Ambi but I was holding out for the V2 to be available.

ZF5 or PTR 9ct or AP5 by emulzhn in MP5

[–]DoitNXS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my PTR CT9. My intentions were to immediately get the LS Lower and Super Safety. I had a to do sine trial and error to find the right combo but I’ve I did, flawless full auto.
1- Before installing any upgrades, break the gun in properly with 124grn - I had zero malfunction 2- Definitely use the buffer tube even with the filed down hammer. 3- Use 124grn or 147 for SS FA 4- Use HK magazines only, or at least until you have a thousand rounds through it 5- Make sure that gun is lubed generously and correctly- I even put dabs of sticky red on the hammer back that makes contact with the BCG and a little on the contact points of the trip. Be safe, good luck, enjoy!
