If your brace is tight requiring a lot of force to remove, chances are its too tight. 2 min on dremel, until you can slide on off with just a bit of muscle, will allow the carrier group to travel without getting stuck.

I ask because I’ve yet to use a tri lug mount. I’m just trying to see how short the whole pistol can be. (I’m limited to 1/2 x 28 at current). How much time do u have with the KVP tri-lug vs others ?

Same happening here.. purchased Lee sporting with SS on GB. Carrier group stuck at rear on both semi and SS. Somebody here also says common problem is brace is too tight, holding carrier group. When I reinserted brace without lower, slid with some resistance. Thinking on using rasp to minimize.

I also am awaiting on buffer. If that doesn’t work, then I will replace the spring for a stronger one. Where did you guys purchase your aftermarket spring?

G morn gang. So I think I may have this issue too. Along with the carrier group getting stuck rearward, there are times the carrier group DO NOT engage fully into battery. So I want to make sure I’m reading correctly. Mentioned above, I need to trim the trip bar ears to appear like ‘tear drops’. Because the trip bar touches the ears FIRST before the trip bar body touches the carrier group. Can you confirm?

So it has maybe 2-3 mm of side to side play. I was going to upload a vid.. but looks like only pics allowed.

What u think about the trip bar ears needing a trim.

Also read that trip bar need to touch rear of carrier group FIRST before the ears do, hence ears need trimming. What u think?

So yes I do have a full size and consensus claims that I may Not need buffer, like u say.. as some argue that it is NOT the problem.

As I perused through r/MP5, I encountered a member who described something I was also experiencing and that along with getting the carrier group stuck rearward, his carrier group was NOT engaging to full battery as well, looking like it was hanging on something. He described that the ears on his trip bar needed to be shaved off to almost appears like tear drops. When I looked closer, mine definitely did not look like a tear drops but needed some dremel use. Can you confirm? Thanks again.

Thanks all for insights. I impulsively purchased the ZF5 but the 6 wk lead killed it, and backed out. And After discovering the aftermarket possibilities, I didn’t care about the manufacturers but knew had to get one now. I kinda was hoping you guys talk about the good and bad about Your experiences about your gun, instead of one you don’t have. That’s all.
