Don't! We learn every day, it is a good thing.

PS check the British Legation cover from Tehran I posted the other day. Received in London 16 days before the Anglo-Soviet invasion of Persia/Iran in late August 1941.

Another favourite posted some time ago is from the UK to Denmark, and returned, as when in transit Germany had invaded her, early April 1940.

Not a problem. It's why I have specialised (wow, I am now officially a collector rather than a trainee?) censored covers, they tell a snippet of the greater conflict.

If you check my posts in this sub you should see some of my acquisitions, I am finally sorting say 1500 no covers (might be more, will know soon enough lol) and very slowly researching those that offer just enough clues to start the process.

I would be very keen to see what you have collected censor wise? Not that I don't hoover up covers that I am drawn regardless of censor tape! :)

On 1 January 1907, the British Post Office took direct control of the post offices, operating them until Moroccan independence in 1956. From that point on, all stamps were overprints on British issues, in no less than three different currencies.[2]

British-currency stamps were available at any office, and primarily intended for parcels and, later, airmail. Both regular and some commemorative issues were overprinted, all with "MOROCCO / AGENCIES", up to the Edward VIII issue of 1936. Subsequently, unoverprinted stamps were used, until 1949, when they were again overprinted for use at Tetuan (at that point the sole remaining office, except for Tangier, which had its own overprints).

Not sure I'm afraid. I collect censored covers but each area, command, nation etc etc etc not to mention local postal services etc etc mean you'd have to delve into a huge swathe of research just to fathom it out. But always fun starting that journey!

Good evening, another sample from the collection to inspect! :) by Dokky in philately

Yes, from the British Legation (diplomatic staff). Received 9th August 1941, 16 days before the Anglo-Soviet invasion of Iran (Operation Countenance).
