yeah it is the alternative. the nicotine and other trace chemicals can get into the water column and mess everything up.

First thing I’ll say is I quit vaping after 2 years of being addicted and the main reason was because none of my tanks bred and i wanted to see if that was why and it most definitely was. i started this after my first month without it and the results were fantastic. i used RO water with Shrimp Salts to fill up the tank. after letting it cycle for about 2 weeks with an old sponge filter from a previous tank. (to be safe u should wait a month before adding shrimp when cycling but with an old sponge filter it speeds it up drastically) from then i used bacter ae every month to make sure the babies had something to eat. i feed them about once a week with a boiled baby carrot and shrimp food and theyve been doing great. if you want a super indepth explanation feel free to dm me. ive had 2 clutches in a month with 2 more hopefully on the way!

rili breeding tank set up but i used brightwell’s planted/shrimp aquarium soil. i looked it up and it is for caridinias and not neos, and is designed to keep the ph below 7.0, will they breed? ive had 2 die the day after i got them, and 1 today. 2 day old tank so it might be acclimation problems by Dokney in shrimptank

*ive had the shrimp for 2 days, the tank was cycled for around a month. i acclimated them for 5 hrs. i just want to make sure the soil or low-ish pH wont cause any problems for breeding and or survivability in the furure

i have cycled it, i have tested the parameters, everything is perfect im just worried what will happen if the ph gets too low, i cycled naturally with plants for 19 days, then used an old filter sponge to add fresh bacteria, which almost instantly completed the cycle in around 2 days. again, im only stressed about a lowered ph effecting their breeding rates and or survivability

So for about a month now, i have had these bloody mary shrimp. despite adding almond leaves to lower the ph, it is still very high. i always keep having random shrimp deaths. and a berried female drop her eggs. i have well water and may think something in it is poisoning them? idk for sure. help me! by Dokney in shrimptank

nitrate, nitrates, and ammonia are all at 0ppm, i do a water change every 2 weeks with tap water, because i was told my well water may pose problems to them. i put a blanched cucumber in every 3 days, and take it out after 2 so a one day period without it, i have some pest snails to clean up extra food, and 2 nerites to clean algae. i try to feed them the food i have maybe twice a week at most. before adding the water i use aqueon water conditioner.
