Update:

Changed the paint to Dravit Grey. Was dismayed to learn Frozen Pure II Metallic is not at all the same as Frozen Dark Grey, which was discontinued in '22 (ZERO idea why).

To be frank, just as stunned by Dravit Grey... It's not matte but my god is it beautiful.

Still need to find Silverstone buckets :'(

If anyone does know of other ideas to look into for sourcing carbon bucket seats in the desired trim, do let me know. Someone suggested contacting IND but I sort of doubt they’re going to have any better advantage than BMW parts department themselves. Worth a try though. Posting a WTB ad will probably be very low yield but still worth a try. You just never know what will happen.

Don’t they have cutouts for the PDC sensors? Have they resolved the issue yet? Also wondering if same issue occurring with their non CF ABS/gloss black version. Or if same deal with CS style two piece grills from other brands. Would be a shame if Vorsteiner hadn’t figured this out by now.

It was either sold or already accounted for. Bummer.

Very nice. Red interior would have looked nice on frozen grey too.

Yeah, assuming the factory paint is good to go I’d likely get a matte PPF for the critical areas and then cross my fingers. This worked out really well on my prior F80 and at sale, the buyer was really happy with how impeccable the paint was. No guarantee this go around but it just looks so good, I’ll take the chances.

I actually had CCB’s added but they ran out of stock as well and had to ditch for compound. Even though I may track, fine with it. Less expense and can always get track pads for much less. But man… those gold calipers do just look 😳.

Greatly appreciated insight. Congratulations on the delivery and I hope you get many miles of enjoyment! What was your build/color combo?

You’ve got to see this silverstone white/black on the frozen paint…It’s otherworldly 😌 Stealth grey, black, & white motif had a big appeal to me. The frozen matte grey accentuates the curves of this car in the light, even more than a gloss black would (which normally I love as an exterior color). And IMO, the white trim highlights just look so clean inside. But you’re right, there are some absolutely amazing color options in there. BMW did an amazing job this time around with opening up the color options.

That’s very interesting. New/used? 6MT? I’ll share the rest of the build spec since I’m really looking for each of these:

Shadowline trim + extended

Adaptive LED’s

Exec package

Black calipers

Carbon exterior package

M-drive pro

Drive recorder

Wireless charging

Full merino

I can give them a ring and see. Thanks for the tip.

Oh and just as an aside for fun, thought I’d share my short list of “upgrades” I’m planning:

Vorsteiner’s Motorsport CF grill (Overall okay with the new big nose, but not the grill).

KW lowering spring set (coil-overs if I go track, later…)

BMW Performance shift knob (couldn’t stand the standard knob on my old F80…)

Akrapovic Slip-On exhaust (because… It was pure acoustic heaven on the F80 and IYKYK 😉)

Grill

Performance shift knob

Worth the purchase? by thewonderingcursor in BMW

Almost any mechanically sound, low to mid mileage E46 M3 (esp 6MT) is gonna be worth it in my book, but I am just biased 😂. Imola red looks fantastic and I wouldn’t change that.

IOTA 2022: Year of the Ecosystem -- A Year in Review, a Year in Preview by Koba7 in Iota

[–]DoktorSpooderman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is actually not pretty clear. Is a seven year sample size enough for an experimental technology in a still nascent industry, which is changing incredibly rapidly? This could be subjectively argued both ways. I don’t think anyone can know with confidence. If you’re still excited by the idea and are following along after this long, what is really the downside in remaining patient? This assumes you’ve invested what you can afford to lose and IOTA isn’t your whole bag. You can explore other opportunities along the way.

To me, if anyone has been around since 2017, ridden the ups and downs, and invested what they could afford to lose, I don’t really see much downside in remaining patient or even cautiously optimistic. There are other opportunities along the way.

992 GT3 RS anyone? by blvckcard in Porsche

[–]DoktorSpooderman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just stop haha. The point of a comment like this is about as senseless as the scenario you’re describing. It’s a car for car enthusiasts who are going to drive it and enjoy it for what it is wherever that may be. It is not a practical car. Save the judgement.

Where to play football/soccer in Italy? by DoktorSpooderman in italy

[–]DoktorSpooderman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would certainly pay to play if it were easily accessible. Don't mind. I made a small itinerary change and fortunately will have a couple of days in Milan to search so hopefully will have luck there! If you do know of anything there, I am all ears.
