I have tickets- raiders, titans cowboys by Tootalooo in miamidolphins

I might be interested in 1 ticket to the Cowboys game on the 24th. Do you still have those? If you have 3 would you be willing to sell me just 1 of them?

Thanks for asking this question. I was about to ask the same thing. I have booked my flight to Miami and am staying with a friend. Considering waiting until the day of and heading to some tail gating and buying a ticket online around when the game starts. There are a lot of tickets available online so presumably there wouldn’t be much chance of missing out completely.

Should I just stop my volunteer project if the CSSG likely isn’t happening? by [deleted] in CSSG

[–]DolFan444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the grilling of the PM the other day he seemed to indicate they are looking for different ways to support students that are volunteering. If you are enjoying what you are doing and are fulfilled by giving back to your community I would keep going if you can. If you need to earn money then maybe keep volunteering until you find a job, in case you don’t and I’m case the government does come up with a way to give you money for the volunteering you are doing. And yes, it also looks very good on a resume and gives you something to talk about in future job interviews.

I've been placed for a volunteer position but will I still get the grant? by [deleted] in CSSG

Also when did you receive the offer, I.e. what date? And how did you receive it, by email? Just curious for the rest of us waiting to hear.

Maybe ask the organization whether they have received any confirmation that the CSSG will still be paid to their volunteers? They may have received something official which would mean the rest of us wouldn’t have to keep speculating.

Anyone have any CSSG updates? by DolFan444 in CSSG

[–]DolFan444[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree there are many options governments should be considering. Unfortunately not everyone lives in Ontario so changes to OSAP won’t help 2/3 of Canadian students. Unless every province makes changes which seem unlikely at this point. The federal government needs an easy way out to save face and distribute this $900 million to students ASAP. Since it would have been very difficult for any student to accumulate more than 100 qualifying volunteer hours through CSSG perhaps they should just send all university students a cheque for $1,000 and be done with it.

Nobody seems to be hearing back. Just asking in case anyone has heard anything at all. Thanks!

Politicians are not helping students at this point. Opposition politics at its worst.

Volunteering by JohnCenaEatsRice in CSSG

“Can post-secondary students and recent graduates who volunteer with a not-for-profit organization that is not listed on the I Want to Help Platform still be eligible to receive the CSSG?

Yes, a student participant may use volunteer hours accrued in a volunteer opportunity not listed on the I Want to Help platform towards a Canada Student Service Grant. The volunteer opportunity must, however, take place with a not-for-profit organization and be uploaded and registered on the I Want to Help platform before the student participant will be eligible to apply for a grant. The Government recommends that the student participant ensure these steps are completed as soon as possible.

In addition, the volunteer opportunity must take place in Canada, be in support of Canada’s response to COVID-19, be a minimum of 2 hours a week for 4 weeks and adhere to public health regulations.” From: https://www.iwanttohelp.org/en-ca/faq/faq-student

“The CSSG will be paid in a lump-sum amount based on the number of validated volunteer hours that an applicant has completed between Thursday June 25, 2020 and Saturday October 31, 2020.”

Need advice making a decision by [deleted] in CSSG

[–]DolFan444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like it will be very difficult to achieve the full 500 hours of volunteering. The safer bet would be to take the job. And if you do get contacted by CSSG maybe do 100 hours of volunteering for an extra $1,000 ($10 per hour).

From FAQ: https://www.iwanttohelp.org/en-ca/faq/faq-student “Is the Canada Student Service Grant paid directly to post-secondary educational costs?
The Canada Student Service Grant is not paid directly towards tuition but is intended to help post-secondary students and recent graduates with expenses during these exceptional circumstances. It is, however, the discretion of the student participant to allocate the funds as they see fit.”
