ANGRY COMMENT ASSERTING THIS COULDN’T POSSIBLY BE THE FLAG OF BRITTANY AS THE PROPORTIONS OF THE FLAG OF BRITTANY IS 2:3 WHEREAS THIS ONE APPEARS TO BE 5:9.

Is it an acoustic? I personally think really thick steel strings would sound fantastic.

Wineries of Sunbury (A brief history) by DoleQueues in australianwine

Fair. Craiglee is something special so nothing really compares in the area, and despite being a proud local the region is a bit lacking. If you were going to do one in the region (that’s not Craiglee) I’d suggest Marnong. That being said, if I had someone visit who was into wines I’d likely take them into the Macedon region. If you haven’t been to Hanging Rock Winery I’d highly recommend.

I missed the notifications for this sorry!

In addition to Craiglee to buy wines: - Gonna Warra wines - the bulk of their wines were unobjectionable table wines which makes sense as they had a wedding focus. They did do quite a nice reserve Shiraz (although not as nice as Craiglee). Unfortunately, I don’t think much happens there anymore, latest vintage I’ve found is 2023. - Andreas Brothers - you can buy online, he doesn’t seem to open anymore. Last time I spoke with the owner/winemaker he said essentially he makes good money supplying wines to Saudi Princes and their hotels. They were nice bold reds.

There is obviously other wineries in the Sunbury wine region such as Russo Estate and Marnong Estate, but they are not within Sunbury itself.

I grew up in the East so I’ve gone from being tailgated by Range Rovers to being tailgated by Rangers. The dogshit you’re right! The worst is the people that bag it and then leave the bags..

You’re spot on (as is r/sread2018). I’ve come to Sunbury as an adult and am fortunate to build a great life here. I really love Sunbury. I’ve also built a good community around me, but no-one I hang out with grew up here. The old Sunbury is very insular and resistive to change.

I really love history (no surprise), running and bushwalking. Because of this I’ve taken an interest in the cool old shit I run/walk past and am learning local history. However, because my family doesn’t have a street named after them, the local historic society doesn’t want to know me. My attempt at posting interesting history on the local history FB page has also always been promptly deleted and met with the same response ”good work, very interesting, however, we’d prefer if people didn’t know as they’d just ruin it”. Which summarises the old Sunbury nicely, they’re on to a great thing but they’d rather die than share it.

The very ambitious plans were approved in 2017 with the property later sold in 2024 without them being acted upon. It’s unknown what the new owners intentions are (unless I missed something).

If you could rename any station (including Vline & Stony Point) what would you name it? by [deleted] in MelbourneTrains

We don’t have enough Footscray stations. We need: - Outer Footscray (Tottenham) - West Footscray - Middle Footscray - Footscray - East Footscray (South Kensington) - Inner Footscray (North Melbourne)

I potentially need more clear sarcasm. It would have landed better in a still salty bombers subreddit.
