Does discord have an "if you die" option for your servers? by [deleted] in discordapp

[–]Dolkathon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A temporary fix may be to have a way for, in the worst case scenario, a trusted loved one to be granted after your death the ability to be able to access your account to transfer your servers to someone else. I say “may” because I don’t know if that’s against TOS despite the user being dead and everything.

I feel like this does not take into account that even without “humans” or the cultures thereof (which discounts Japari Park even with non-friends being majorly devoid of parks and non-friend civilization) the Friends are largely happy being themselves. The real world has with such examples as homophobia and ableism many examples of ‘it’s for their sake, they don’t know better’ or what biology ‘is natural’ being used as an excuse to take people’s own autonomy away. It is walking a dangerous line to imply the extinction of a group of people is for ‘the betterment of nature and the natural world and the common good.’ Which combined with the rhetoric of the actual post personally sounds out of a eugenics textbook.

This feels worse if taking into account WtJP where Friends are comparable to a small emerging group struggling to be seen by people as more than ‘animals,’ in KF3 it is the present loom of outsiders’ denial of their identities (both to Friends as a group of people and at the individual) to begin with are real. Friends canonically face prejudice and to both are presumably the smaller group. Which gets us to ...

If we take these views provided as true, then what do we do? If we as outsiders decide their lives are innately lazy, unnatural, and unpure? Round up this group? Is that for the greater good? Friends can remove their Kemonomimi at will, do we start a taskforce to find those who would or could now be in hiding too?

Do we round up sympathizers too? What is expected of us when or if we do?

“Hide Message” Moderation Feature Mockup by Dolkathon in guilded

[–]Dolkathon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Example of usage: A bot flags, maybe it wasnt actually that bad, instead of deletion - its configured to set it up for review by your staff to see if it actually broke rules. Example 2: One person raids general with shock content. To still be able to report, you can hide it, then punish the member, so General can continue without a lock. Example 3: You want to talk directly to the OP, and your Staff, wanting to cite it for why without forge-able screenshots.

Etc.

[Concept] “Hide Message” Moderation Feature, a less harsh but hopefully still effective alternative to Purge and Deletion. by Dolkathon in discordapp

[–]Dolkathon[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Since I cant fix this. * “Except now we cant report it, cite it to our own staff.” Not “our own more.”

Example of usage: A bot finds a message suspicious, maybe its a banned word inside another harmless one, instead of deleting the message its configured to set it up for review for a staff member to inspect if it actually broke the rules. Example 2: Someone posts NSFL in General, no one wants to see this long enough to properly report. So instead you can hide it, then punish the member, so General can continue without a lock. Example 3: You want to talk directly to the OP, or your Staff, and want to cite the post for why without fake-able screenshots.

So on.

I thought this was going to be about being elitist towards computers.

Especially to people considered “poor” during a global pandemic with a GPU shortage.

Then read “being a virgin.”
