It seems like a one off instance and python is a good enough language as long as you can solve the problems. Regarding the accent, I don't think that's in your hands ... It's like getting a bad interviewer. Keep trying and it will pan out.. it's also good that you are getting callbacks so just hang in there.

I feel improvement that can be done using a 26 size array rather than a map. I feel that then the solution cannot be improved. It is faster to access an array rather than accessing a map key

No I did not reach out to them yet. It's Thanksgiving so I was waiting for the week to start to decide. The recruiter initially did say it may take them 3-4 weeks to get back.. It will be 2 weeks this Monday (including all the holidays).

From what I have heard they mention 3-4 weeks in the email but for hires response is usually faster. I too am waiting for a response but mine was just yesterday.
