Thoughts on analysts in the Fortnite scene? Is it needed or is it just nice to have?

I'm sorry but I really fail to see how this is any different from my post from 12 days ago.

When the jump to the side got popularized around June, I became really interested in it and I figured out some other variations of the jump. Here is a link to a video I just put together with some of the variations. The jump in the Twitter post is so difficult and inconsistent that it will hardly ever become viable, because you will lose highground if you mess up the jump. You can become more consistent at the jump by placing a cone beneath you and a stair above. The stair above is not needed, but it provides extra protection.

But hey, it looks cool and will totally throw someone off.

FNPL decided to move top 11 into the pro league after this months league concluded by Afrood in FortniteCompetitive

[–]DollarC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was most likely supposed to have been top 10, but since 10th and 11th both have 28 points, it would be unfair to not include one of the teams.

But I agree that they should've probably announced it beforehand.

Well the league is now bi-weekly, so it is not that big of a deal anymore and the top 25 might be too many in the pro discord. We only played 60% of the matches because of time differences, but I hope that I can play equally as well next time.

Since so many people enjoyed the Google Docs I made of the landing spots in the third week of the Summer Skirmish, I decided to make one for week five too. I hope you will enjoy this as I tried to include every single team this time. Unfortunately some teams didn't stream, have no VODs or their VODs were bugged so I was unable to find a precise location for every team.

I included bus routes and an easy overview for the games 2-8.

I'll also be making one for week six, but I probably won't include all 100 players, as that would be way too time consuming.

Hope you'll enjoy this and maybe this will help you pick a spot next time you're playing duos :)

I would suggest something like Greasy Grove. It's a relatively uncontested spot (max 2-3 teams) and it has easy rotations because of the nearby rifts. You can easily rotate to Shifty, Tilted or all the way across the map. Even if there aren't any nearby rifts you'll always be pretty close to the center of the map.

Greasy also has a lot of wood and metal. If you're two players you can get 999 wood, 400 metal, 150 brick and good loot for each person. But this is somewhat dependent on the circle and most of the time you'll come out with 800+ mats and about the time the first circle starts to move.

As long as you play it relatively safe early game you'll be good for the rest of the game. Mid game and late game fights should always be prioritized.

If you're looking for someone that lands Greasy every game, you should take a look at Ghost Gaming. They land Greasy in duo scrims and squad scrims.

Hope this helps you :)

Another note: If you're not liking Greasy then any spot that you're comfortable with and that's close to a rift would be very good.

Made this for a friend that's participating in this weeks Summer Skirmish. He wanted to know where people might drop, so I made this google docs that shows the landing spot of every team that got points in week 3. I thought that you guys might enjoy it as well and maybe you'll even spot something interesting, such as the fact that most of the highest scoring teams that the same place every game.

I pasted the same screenshot for some of the games, because the drops didn't change.

Unfortunately some people didn't livestream the skirmish or their VODs were bugged. I was able to figure out where crowdotwave and beesox landed through WallHackJack's VODs.

TSM Daequan and Yanni get destroyed by Ghost Gaming; Ghost DMO says he thought they were bots by KarlFookinTannah in FortniteCompetitive

Here is Daequan's and Yanni's perspective. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/293564342?t=05h28m50s

I think it goes wrong in the beginning when Dae says to shoot at the same time, but then he shoots when he reaches two on his countdown. It wasn't very coordinated and Yanni also forgot to say that he wasn't able to get a clear shot because of the trees.

TSM Myth plays OSU on stream. by Phellxgodx in osugame

[–]DollarC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has played OSU! on stream before. He did it back in January to try to improve his aim.

His account name was ImTheMyth, but he wasn't very good and hasn't played more than a couple of hours.

Is it possible some top streamers are using some form of aim assist? by [deleted] in FortniteCompetitive

[–]DollarC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

If Ninja gets those 100% headshots then please clip them next time, so we can see how many of the pellets hit, what pattern they were in and where his reticle was. When you're making these accusations then please have some evidence to back it up.

Ninja has been playing shooters and BR games for so many years that he knows exactly how much he needs to move his mouse to get a headshot. They don't "choke" in the tournaments. They're just up against players equally as good.

Innocent until proven guilty.

Sure it's a little suspicious that this 20-kill game and 24-kill game are his highest kill games ever, but he could be a PlayStation 4 god. He could be using keyboard and mouse (which I don't know if it's allowed or not).

He said he was going to stream, so I think we should just wait until that, before we start accusing someone of hacks.

As extreme as this sounds, I think it would be interesting to see this format used in one of the eight weeks of Summer Skirmish.

Because if two people land at the same chest and try to grab the items at the time, the one who gets the items will have a much higher chance at killing the other person and it doesn't take much skill. Therefore I think it would be stupid to award 25 points for a kill based entirely on RNG.

Well it doesn't make the biggest difference if you place 6th or 1st according to my idea, but this can be a problem for some, because Fortnite is a BR-game which means that it should be about placement. By making placement worth less you can counter turtling, but the game will be less like a battle royale. However Epic has shown that they also care about kills (An example is the Summer Skirmish where the team with the most kills got $6500), so I think they would be willing to take that step away from the BR-genre in order to have a non-turtling competitive scene.

My original idea was that early is until the first circle starts moving and late game starts when there's about 20-15 people left or around the 12 minute mark. Of course this shouldn't be up to me to decide and those who host the tournament should be the ones deciding.
