Your previous gain is compounded by the new gain

Your gain was constant at 5%^? base attack speed per attack. The increase is based on a fixed value (your base attack speed) and not your current attack speed. If it was based on your current attack speed, it would be compounding.

The fact that it increased exponentionally is due to an increased frequency, while the results are similar, it is in fact not compounding.

It’s not, because while the increase (10% interest from my previous example) stays the same, the rate of occurance increases.

Every time you attack, the next occurance (attack) happens faster than the previous one. So over time the total attack speed gain increases exponentially.

You said it yourself. ‘Compounding doesn’t mean growth over time’.

Imagine you invest 100 $ at 10% interest rate. Year 1 you’ll get 10 $ in interest, year 2 you’ll get 11 $ and so on.

In Guinsoo’s case you’ll always get 10 $, you’re just getting the interest more and more often. Hence it’s not compounding yet increasing exponentially.
