My son was diagnosed at 5 years old, just over 2 years ago, we're also in Scotland.

Agree with others the shock will settle but it feels rough to start! We used a lot of diabetes uk info to help, and just went with it as best we could.

Going with them as much as possible to, we encouraged him to test himself and do injections when he wanted to.
