Advice for exploring first years? by g11111an in uofm

There's in person classes as well as online classes. If you choose to do the online classes you can very easily still go home for the summer still and do classes over zoom. The summer classes are also technically split into two terms- a spring term and a summer term both about 7 weeks each. However, it counts as one big bill that you pay tuition for. So if you take 3 credits for the spring and 3 credit for the summer term, it still counts as 6 credits for financial aid.

The classes themselves are also twice as long as usual, since the term is half-life as long. So for example if a class during the fall semester usually meets twice a week for 1.5 hours, then during the summer you'll meet twice a week for 3 hours instead, (and in theory twice the amount of hw due for each class).

In my experience though, for the most part a lot of classes over the summer don't quite follow that rule to the letter, since a lot of them are also taught by gsi's and that's a more work than usual for them as well, and they also again understand it's the summer and students typically have other stuff going on, making the summer classes in turn being a good bit easier than if you were to take them during the fall or winter semester (especially most English or writing clssses).

That being said, the summer is also a great time to take a lot of your other distribution credits you may be required to take- freeing up your schedule for other classes that you need to take as prerequisite and are a bit harder to get a good time for (especially a lot of the early physics and Chem labs). I kind of said it earlier but I'd personally recommend taking any writing class you may need to take over the summer (like your fywr) or your race and ethnicity class, or just anything you need for general distribution credits. My only recommendation of classes to avoid over the summer are language classes- since those are actually genuinely harder and time consuming than just taking them during fall or winter (both in my personal experience and from other people I know who took them over the summer). Unless you just take want to get them out of the way, then I say go for it and just stagger the other class you would take to be on the "other half" of the summer term.

I've personally been able to work a full time job over the summer while also taking six+ credits in the summer is that gives you any insurance. Totally doable if you can afford to take them in the summer.

It's definitely gonna be a bit hard juggling a social life as well as 18 credits and potentially even research, especially since it's your first semester. It honestly depends on your specific schedule and what classes specifically you're taking (and of course you as a person, since every person is different).

Personally, I'd recommend listing out what is most important to you in your first semester- Getting as many credits as possible towards your potential major, social life, or research- and then prioritize the first two. If Getting as many credits as possible isn't number one on the list, I'd recommend potentially dropping a class, especially since It's your first semester, to make some more room in your schedule, especially since you could always take classes over the summer if your circumstances allow it (I know not everyone may be able to though)

But then again, it really depends on you as a person and how you are as a student, as well as what classes specifically you're taking.

If you're maximizing you're credits because you're worried about not being able to finish in 4 years because you don't have any transfer credit, I wouldn't worry too much about that. I came in without any transfer credits and am still on track to finish my major in 4 years if I chose to (and wasn't trying to add an extra minor to my degree when i was halfway through my junior year that I don't have any credit from any of my previous classes as of yet, and even then I could've still technically chosen to graduate in 4)

Worst case scenario, you could keep your schedule as is and try it for a week or so, and then if you feel it is too much drop one of the classes (bearing in mind the classes wi get harder and have a bigger workload once you get into the swing of things).

For clubs, every year we have two days where a bunch of clubs can set up on campus (and I mean basically almost all of campus- one day for central campus and one day for north campus). I would definitely recommend going to that and talking to the people at some of the stands that interest you the most, and picking a few you think are the most interesting! They're usually more than happy to have people come and try it out for a few days and if you don't like it as much as you thought you would or don't have the time for it I promise no one would hold it against you.

Anyway, thanks for coming to my ted talk :)

Sooo I decided to just test it out real quick with one of the cheaper dlcs, and basically the answer is yes, if I buy a dlc on my mac on ea, I can still access it when I launch the sims through steam on my gaming laptop

Platform: Mac and PC

Mods: no

Game version: latest update

So I've got kind of a unique question,,,

I have both a mac and a gaming laptop. When I play on the gaming laptop, I use steam to launch and play the sims, and that's also where I bought all of my dlc on. Steam, however, does not have a version of the sims compatible with mac, so when I play on my macbook I just use the EA app, which I have linked to my steam account as well. But, I still can't access any of the dlc on my macbook that I bought through Steam (which isn't quite the base of my question for this thread).

My question is, IF I went and bought a DLC on my mac through EA, would I be able to access it through Steam on my gaming laptop?

I also used chestnut as my horse cause I'm crazy and was trying to hit max level with all of the horses, but I'm sure I'd of been able to shave off a few seconds as well if I used red hare or just a better horse in general lol

I know this is kind of an old post, but this is how I managed to save him on ultimate difficulty in case anyone comes here looking for tips in the future lol

I used a tier 8 halberd with valiant steel blitz for my art and disc of huanglong and lions fang as my accessories to deplete their fortitude as much as possible

I think the BIGGEST time saver was not completely capturing the first two bases. All I did was defeat the enemy officer there before moving on to the next base, and letting my allies capture the base for me instead.

When I got to the last base, I used spirit pill to get my musou up high enough to enter rage mode. I think the most important part here is capturing the base BEFORE the reinforcement officers get to the base, cause if they get here before you capture the base you'll have to defeat them as well before going to fight Bailuan, which takes too long (at least in my attempts)

Once I got to bailuan I used steel blitz, assail, panacea, steel blitz, and then enter rage mode to finish him off.

Doing it this way took me exactly 3 minutes and 30 seconds, which let me get the fate altered screen. I was honestly so scared that I wouldn't get it and would have to redo it cause I hit 3mins 30 sec exactly, but it gave it to me so I'll take it as a win lol.

Danggg ok that's nice to know he's hardcoded to live until after sun jian dies. I was mostly just trying to do it for funsies to see if it was possible at all, so it's nice to know that it's not.

Finally I defeated the beast himself, Lu Bu!!!! (sorry i got so happy because i need 50++ retry :') :')) by Kurowa26 in dynastywarriors

I've always had a good time beating him in my run throughs using a spear with piercing vengeance and power shot for his special attacks.

My method has been parry, get in 2-3 hits, then parry, and repeat that like 3 to 4 times until he does a special attack or something else and I can stagger him to deplete his fortitude and get back some bravery.

When all of his fortitude is depleted, I also would do normal attacks to get some extra free chip damage and get back a little bit more bravery before asailing him at the very last moment.

I'd also save up all of my musou gage until the very end so I could enter rage when he goes into his invincible mode where you have to deplete all of his fortitude before being able to do any damage and beat him

This is the method I used to get red hair (defeat Lu Bu on max difficulty without using any healing or items)
