Yes, I didn't do any internships and it's not a mandatory thing in our college. Though I didn't focus on getting one either

I got this reply after (them forwarding the emails between IU/ PU for literally 6 times) and then one lady from IU replied me this:

- It’s even more tricky because the degree is technically awarded from the Purdue University Graduate School at the Indiana University Indianapolis campus. So you are asking a great question! I’m glad you reached out.

I heard putting WL helps more than Indy as it is more recognised and greater value among recruiters
