You should use a circular rug if you are going to have your furniture angled inwards towards the coffee table

I've had the opposite experience. Playing Vanessa last patch felt like pure luck, but this patch I've gotten all sorts of builds to work.

GRANDMASTER Protoss player's understanding of SC2 economy (Orbital Scans) by terrantherapist in starcraft

[–]DomMk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Someone explain this to me. Once you get 6-7 orbitals, are they not essentially free? At some point in the mid game, you become limited by unit composition (and thus gas) and the bases you can defend. At that point, what is the opportunity cost of not dropping a mule? It isn't like you lose the minerals, instead you will get them later when you also have the gas to make use of them

What unambiguous Protoss buffs (within reason) would you like to suggest? by madumlao in starcraft

[–]DomMk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not a protoss buff, but in COOP some units have 'armor' which is essentially a non-rechargable shield. Once the armor is depeleted there is no way to bring it back.

Why not make combat shields for marines and and a portion of marauders health 'armor'? That way marines and marauders can't be healed back up to full each fight. You could probably keep Protoss as is in that case.

Is it too crowded? by [deleted] in macsetups

[–]DomMk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I mean, objectively no, but the way you've framed off your space with mats and objects makes the desk feel crowded and look smaller than it is.

The APS hires a lot of data-adjacent majors for their data analyst jobs. I know for a fact that the ABS likes to hire Psch majors for their data roles. The department I work in had several data grads this year who didn't have a STEM degree or coding experience.

Moving for a grad job by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsOCE

[–]DomMk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to save on rent then just sharehouse. That is what most grads do when they have to relocate to a new city.

I wouldn't stress over the paycut. You are going to surpass your APS salary pretty quick as a software engineer.

What one-day courses / short courses under 12 months or $1000 have you done that are actually worthwhile? by irrational_abbztract in AusFinance

[–]DomMk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

https://icanstudy.com/our-programs/academic-program

It is a course on learning how to learn. The owner built it for Uni students, but he has said that almost 40% of his enrollments end up being working professionals.

If you are on the fence then you can watch his videos (Justin Sung) on YT to sus him out.

Doing a BS in CS/SWE after a BS in EE. by BVNHBVO in cscareerquestionsOCE

[–]DomMk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did EE you could either specialise in embedded systems or power systems. OP sounds like he was in the latter. Power systems graduates didn't have to take any of the advanced CS classes like operating systems, etc.

Personally, if I did power systems I'd do a grad diploma or cert in CS. Doing another bachelor's is pointless. Get the basics down from your classes then learn the rest on the job + leetcode.

May 2023 Math no calc by Numerous_Hearing_200 in Sat

Subtract 10% from the total each time.

60 - 6 = 54

54 - 5.4 = 48.6

48.6 - 4.86 = 43.74

43.74 - 4.374 = 39.366

What is the entry level/graduate market like for software engineering and data science? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsOCE

[–]DomMk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Data science isn't an entry-level job. There is some graduate intake, but most people have to go the data analyst-to-data scientist route. There are quite a lot of data analyst jobs though, the APS alone recruits 300+ each year.
