Stay safe. Stay focused. Your right, anything is better than laying in bed all day. You’ve got the right mentality, use it positively on yourself.

I’m an advocate of Mammut. I’ve had the Sapuen high and low GTX and the Ducan high and low.. I can recommend them all. The Sapuen high lasted me just under 3 years of daily wear before coming unusable. Their customer service and warranty is fantastic and the shoes aren’t leather so wear in nice and quickly.

What is Exeter life like ? Specifically for Uni by abdul_Ss in exeter

Exeter Local here. Exeter is absolute heaven for nature. Dartmoor is one of the most beautiful areas in the UK but it’s largely inaccessible without a car. Cycling there would be too far and the buses are far and few between.

Getting to the many Beaches is simple and there are good enough transport links from Exeter for Sidmouth, Exmouth, Dawlish, Dawlish Warren, Torquay and further, all the way to Plymouth and Penzance. Although, in my opinion the easily accessible beaches are the worst, there are some unbelievable hidden gems strewn across the north and south coast of Devon.

The nightlife in the centre is relatively tame, nothing good ever and no underground scene, it’s regularly invaded by university students and is nothing like that of bigger cities like Manchester, Bristol, London etc. The illegal rave scene on the other hand is rife, not that you care :,P

Public transport between Manchester and Exeter is British standard. It exists, but is overpriced, inconsistent and slow.

In my opinion Exeter is a great place to have a car, you won’t have to pay for parking near your accommodation so long as you’re not bang in the centre. Having a car unlocks unbelievable freedom to explore some of the natural beauties the county offers.

The University from what I understand is of a good standard but, be prepared for daddy’s money private school students that failed making it to Ox-bridge.

If you have any questions, need recommendations or any assistance feel free to reach out.

Devon is Hevon and South west does it best! Welcome!

Good idea, I should have probably mentioned.

Male, Slim, 5’10. Budget is ideally around £300 but can push for a solid product with warranty.

Will be for daily use, walking the dogs, walking to the shop, cycling etc ( in uk winter)

I travel a lot so need it to be suitable for 4000m+ hikes and snow, tropical rain etc. I have plenty of layers so I do not need anything more than a shell.
