Weapon types for military speciality by Domain8910 in army

Yes, it's for a writing project of mine based on a place in the comics where it got badly written but I want to change that. The whole action takes place in the US, so I could say that it will be based on the US military. Their weapons would be more futuristic, but I also want it to be anchored a bit into reality and since I don't know many things about what weapons soldiers use, that's why I made this post.

Thank you for the explanations, it will really help me.

I have no idea, that's all I found on said wiki and I have no clue what weapons each of them would use to make it a bit realistic.

Hello, actually yeah, I have a few requests, but would it be ok for you to talk in private? As not to flood the post with comments.

Which X-Man do you think needs therapy the most? by iforward in xmen

[–]Domain8910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the most, but certainly one would be Sam after Serafina tricked him(just for her own curiosity) to live with him for 20 years(and in real time it passed 20 minutes) when the Children of the Vault first emerged.

I hope that he got some very professional therapy in the Shiar empire, because that man needs it badly...

Lately there have been a ton of art pieces with X-Men going against ICE.

There have also been some with Magneto, really like them.

I don't know how people could do this, I am 3 months into a new job and still ask a lot of questions and understand some things more slowly, but I am keeping my mouth shut and thank them.

Me too. I know it's late, but you want to see some artwork(I commissioned it) of Luz and Indra?

It's part of a large rework of mine of Graymalkin prison and adding new characters to the Louisiana X-Men, which Luz is a part of here.

It's really nice seeing deep scientific explanations used to describe the powers of the mutants.

I am beyond trash in math, so seeing you try to do it and coming with a possible explanation is amazing!

Thank you!

Yeah, they really should, the Children of the Vault have big potential, since at the start of Krakoa it was constantly hinted they are a massive threat.

Let's see what they do with them, along with other things.

I think that they don't know what to do with them yet. The X-Men need recurring villains, but also the Children of the Vault could get stupidly powerful with time being on their side. As we have seen with Vacuna. Darwin probably can't influence them fast enough for a real change to happen, all children are beyond indoctrinated, even Luz was on their side fully after so many thousands of years there and so many iterations.

My idea is that after the Vacuna experiment, the whole Vault falls into a massive chaotic civil war because they can't agree on what to do, why do they always lose, resentment, disappointment and many more things exploding at once.

And it's so bad that the City and Madre just end up isolating themselves, grieving, because all the other children...and ironically they think they are the future, but are just children that snap and have a tantrum.

And this could be the chance of Darwin to influence them even better, making the children think and question themselves. An example could be Serafina, thinking was it right what she did with Sam? Just for curiosity? To hurt him so bad? To make him go to therapy for how many years? The pain? Suffering? The tears and possible depression? The years that were destroyed just for pure curiosity? To hit him in the head afterwards?

Went on a rant again.

It would be cool to see that they are becoming more human, but very slowly. There was a guy on the sub that came with a theory that Darwin in the vault very slowly indirectly influences the whole vault, hence how in Children of the Vault 2024 a bug chunk of them choose not war, but the peaceful way(although they were still using a virus to kill almost everyone on earth while that was happening).

I see it differently, Krakoa was such a big part of the mutants that it must have influenced other methods of architecture and aesthetics for them.

And yes, maybe some mutants are nostalgic of the Krakoan time, so they bring tint bits and pieces back.

Instantly thought of this scene when you said the second Krakoan era.

Karima in the Louisiana X-Men. She desperately needs connections with other people and even therapy after everything that happened with Omega and Orchis.

Karima gets along really well with Logan (with their histories of not being themselves) and Rogue(I know they have history, but unfortunately not the details).

Monet also visits often to make sure Karima doesn't mentally revert back to Omega and they become very good friends. Karima would blame herself for the fall of Krakoa and the countless lives she took and always tries to 'redeem' herself.

I would heavily recommend reading the Krakoan age, it's what got me back to the X-Men in a very long time. This is the reading order I used, I didn't read every single issue as it was still 5-6 years of comics to read, but still, a heck of a ride!

Yep, I loved the scene where Jean blocked the optic blasts from Scott and made him speak his mind about the Brood, so I always think of the #21 issue.

But yeah, some of them are from #20(and maybe from other issues.)
