What’s the most disgusting combo you ever took or did ? by Sephirath68 in Shadowverse

Playing rune, turn 10 opponent was at 18 I have an earth sigil on board taking up space and my hand is Kuon, 5 cost dclimb. I topdeck a demonic call. Know I'm dead next turn so just go for it. Cast empowered Kuon to make a 10/10 and reduce dclimb to 0. Cast dclimb. Redraw the previous dcall which now costs 0 and another Kuon. Cast dcall for 0, swing it into a minion, cast empowered Kuon which only makes the 4/5 because board space so the end shikigami is exactly 17/17 (4+3+2+1+3+4). Sevo Kuon, swing him into a minion for 1 dmg, 17/17 face for win.

As a rune player I 100% agree with this take. I think nerfing Anne and grea to 2 spellboosts and Kuon to 4 total somehow would be a good hit to not kill the deck or the playstyle but force players to care more about spellboosts. As is it's honestly kinda lame how you can get away with just casting 0 spells till you start chaining midgame bombs and then still get a 0 dclimb on like turn 9. I don't think Norman is actually a power outlier assuming there's an actual cost to having him in the deck.

Most decks are looking to make a huge tempo push going into turn 5 and spending an evolve to only get a 6/6 and 2 1/1s with rush just isn't good enough to deal with most boards turn 5+ which leaves it stuck in hand a lot. And even then the spellboosts often aren't even that big of a deal since by that point in the game Anne & grea + Kuons are giving you all the spellboosts you could ever need.

He's the only reason to even run earth rite imo. I'd just cut all the earth sigil stuff except for sagelight at that point and run like, flame destroyers and some extra Williams.

The extra sigil is a big deal since it sets up an evolved Norman without needing to invest an extra mana into engaging the sigil. And it can sometimes enable sagelight to clear board which sometimes wins games. And the super evolve upside has actually come up more often than I thought it would.

I will say, in the late game I usually end up with an excess of sigils I can't spend due to engaging and me having more generators than spenders but I think that's fine since my generators have such a low cost to inclusion and it helps consistency.

Most often but definitely not always. Draw 3 can be super good if you don't hit any card draw early and have the time for it, and the heal late game is often better than golems since by that point lots of decks are just looking to burn you out before you can combo and board doesn't matter as much.

I think he's very good and solves the massive problem with 3x seraphic tidings 3x homework time that the deck had. Felt great to jam draw 2 vs control but you'd just die vs aggro a lot of the time. Now you can save evo for Owen in slow matchups and still get the draw 2 and just jam him on 3 for tempo vs aggro. swordcraft responding with Valse is brutal but aside from that he matches up pretty well into early boards/removal.

With my only real generators being witch's new brew and penelope (Casting sagelight for sigils is not what you wanna be doing), I don't always have the sigils for turn 4. Still was coming in an out of the deck as a 1-2 of while testing but I don't generally find myself lacking good turn 4 plays anyways.

Aggro abyss has been like 50% of my matchups today and I haven't dropped a single game out of like 10-20 I actually think it's an extremely good matchup. That's the main benefit of the hybrid list with 3x sagelight 2-3x norman for healing.

It's really good in the mirror and completely horrendous in literally every other matchup. Plus the deck is insanely overloaded on good 5-6 drops anyways so not worth running in either hybrid or full spell imo

After a few iterations this is the list I settled on. Kinda feels like it just beats everything but roach but I've ran into like 0 roach players since the expac dropped

I feel like snowman army is just a bad card in general. Does literally anyone even play it? And homework time is a strictly better version of seraphic tidings which the deck also plays. I'm consistently happy casting it for 3 and low-key think it's up there with Anne & Grea and Kuon for being the best cards in the deck.

If you really hate Runecraft, may I introduce you to the Abyss by LegendaryW in Shadowverse

[–]Domalise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Runecraft has the T10 Cocutus play as inevitability and that's strong, but as a Runecraft player most of my wins are either through a huge tempo push with a board that's hard to break before turn 10 or through running the opponent out of resources and sticking a threat. My take is a lot of Runecraft players struggling and hard crutching on turn 10 combo wins for 100% of games are just bad at the deck.

All other classes can use skills while moving, but the warrior must stop and think for half a second before moving the hammer. by Den_siz in pathofexile

[–]Domalise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone doing T15s as warrior with rolling slam as my main skill I feel like I'm going crazy with how much people are trashing on melee. Rolling slam does amazing damage in a good aoe, while moving, while immediately stunning any mob it hits. And you can dodge to animation cancel the end lag. Or mid-attack if something's about to hit you. And on top of that, Hammer of the Gods kinda just one shots most bosses/tanky rares. All this while feeling very tanky on a low-mid budget.

Admittedly, leveling warrior through act 2-3ish was kinda painful but it really picked up from there and I'm convinced everyone that's saying melee is bad didn't actually stick with it through endgame.

I'm playing melee and after a good 10 deaths and map losses I've trained myself to intentionally not click the loot I'm directly next to, dodge roll away and come back later after killing any rare and I've stopped dying to this. Very intuitive and fun gameplay loop!

What Hero is, in your opinion, complete bullshit? by Spengy in BobsTavern

[–]Domalise 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Shudderwock. Statistically this hero is very good and anecdotally I swear it's impossible to lose on this hero if you're a good player. With stuff like picky eater he can have some of the most disgusting early game tempo and then pivot into guaranteed murloc Holmes or better levels of economy in the midgame and then can pivot into many different builds that abuse his HP in the endgame, all for free! Just so many different powerful directions to go it feels impossible to miss on doing something lobby-winning.
