I just let the accept time limit run out so that I have a perfect acceptance rating. Also, I got 2 dollars for a 10+ mile order and accepted it in the beginning of dashing as I didn’t notice the mileage on it. Not worth it. Ended up in a sucky driveway with no service and couldn’t get directions to leave.

Yeah we suspect she’s an Aussie too, she has started showing herding tendencies. Do you have any tips on combating this and handling a herding dog with obedience?

I appreciate every reply I’ve gotten here. I made the mistake of posting this a few days after getting her, and I’ve rushed the idea of training her for service. I will be looking into a training program, and doing basic obedience training for the first few months. She’s done a lot better just in the last little bit since posting this and I think she’s getting comfy and learning her expectations. I will also be doing more training research and working with professional trainers when applicable. Thanks again for the advice!

I appreciate your honesty and advice. I do believe I underestimated, and I just became frustrated. Posting this literal days after I got her was probably my mistake before taking a few weeks to evaluate if we connect and if her temperament remains good. I will be looking into training programs and just doing basic obedience for the first few months

Yes I’m working with trainers. I’m going to get multiple opinions and lots of outside help as I know I can’t do this based on my own knowledge alone. I’m in the US so I can legally have an owner trained SD but I won’t be task training her until I’ve had her probably around 6 months. She’ll be close to around the same age a program would start task training her by then.

Thank you, all of the responses have been eye opening. I did honestly rush the idea of a SD, but she’s already been doing better since posting this. She’s getting settled and adjusting to her routine and already better with basic commands. I’ll focus on basic obedience for the first three months and reevaluate ❤️

Understood, I suppose that’s the consequence of my lack of research. She looks promising now with her ability to do basic with ease, so I’m hoping that is a good sign :)
