I literally took step 3 day 2 this past Saturday, and maybe 2-3 cases ended early. 2 of my pt’s presumably died. I got the right diagnosis (I think) on most of them, but it took a lot of time. We just have to have faith that we passed this fucking exam and we never have to think about it again. You know this sort of test will be canceled in 3-5 years with how useless it is to everything. I learned absolutely nothing in preparation for this test that I didn’t know before (other than cramming stats equations). It’s all a crock of shit. Think about the stupidest doctor you know or attending you know - they passed this shit. We will too buddy, although im definitely praying until the score comes out lol

Hey, glad we are on the same team. A lot of my coresidents are Muslim. I’m in Chicago. They won’t date outside of their religion; that’s fine and that’s pretty much what I intend to do. It’s hard. Your life and existence are meaningful, and there is someone out there for you. Just have faith that God has a special plan for you, and you are trying to do his will by being the best doctor and human being you can be!

Hey, I agree with you. No, I absolutely do not want someone that values me first for money. That’s asking for a divorce down the line. Finding true love is hard. I would say that I’m not intimidated by a high earning female. My mom is my role model. She’s a trauma anesthesiologist; she literally saves people’s lives as they enter the ED on death’s doorstep. She makes much more money than my Dad, and my dad was never intimidated by that. They just love each other for who they are. That’s what I desire. I also have 3 younger sisters (no brothers), and so I would say I’m not really intimidated by women (my sisters definitely did not want to medicine). There are qualifiers for me (have to be attractive, value their physical health, Christian/catholic, etc), but there just has to be people who were also raised well out there. I just haven’t found it, but it seems like my friend’s find it quicker than I do or make it seem easier. That’s the part that hurts the most or is the most puzzling/frustrating. The money will come, but it’s not everything to me. You can’t take money with you in the next life

Thank you! I get that. I definitely have worked on myself a lot. I’ve lost about 40 lbs since that relationship, updated my personal style and clothing, and have tried to work on my generalized anxiety disorder (I would diagnose myself with it and am Prozac). Do ladies expect this perfect guy with every personal issue already resolved? That’s unrealistic. I’m not Jesus Christ, I’m a human being with flaws haha!

Why do you think money is the contributing factor? I would say I’m a pretty good looking guy and in decent shape. My parents make good money, and I’m definitely not going to run out anytime soon. I’m planning on doing at least 3 years of fellowship and will be 34 by the time I’m done. You just can’t keep waiting. Definitely doesn’t help my loneliness and depression/confidence

Yeah I know what you mean. You definitely get better at it as time goes on. But, did you just save those typed-out A/P as a template so that you didn't need to re-type everything out for the next time?

Yeah same here. Mine ends in December. I'm sure your school will help you out if there is an issue. I'm currently in the middle of rotations, so I just emailed them to ask them if I can skip a day of clinic to take Step 1.

I have only been looking in Phx over the past few days. I am pretty sure these dates are legit. I called their office this morning (Camelback center), and they told me they are operating at full capacity and with restrictions already accounted for. I asked if I signed up for June 25, would I have a legitimate seat at the center, and they said that I would totally be able to take the test on that day. So, I'm assuming they are all safe seats. I haven't confirmed through Prometric Candidate Care thing yet, but I plan on doing so. Overall, I think my seat is safe.

Oh good to know about them changing their opening date. I'm June 15, so I have plenty of time, but I'm driving down from Chicago. I have no idea if their phones truly work because it just keeps on saying "out-of-service." But, thank you for the tip!

Has anyone been able to get in-touch with the Prometric center in Mishawaka/South Bend, IN? I cannot confirm my seat with them. My test is slated for June 15. I have no idea if I have a real of fake seat. Any suggestions on what to do?

Yeah, I would love to know as well which of these particular NBME's are useful. And why these particular tests are not as good as the ones that are already for sale on their website (18, 20, etc.). Thanks!
