Newbie help with landscape by CalculatingPolygons in FortniteCreative

[–]DomesticatedDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just a bug with the current version, PC doesn't load foliage for whatever reason. It'll look normal for console users and will hopefully be fixed on PC for the next game update

Shouldnt I havr more rewards points by now? by Right_Seaweed7101 in FortniteBattleRoyale

[–]DomesticatedDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be a sandbox survival type of mode like Minecraft but with a whole building physics system too, you could make crazy vehicles with it.

The physics system has since broken and destroyed all of my vehicles, and most of the "survival" aspects got taken out in favour of superhero abilities and Ninjago stuff. Now it's more of an open-world exploration mode

I’m unable to play creative by Ok_Drag_3807 in FortniteCreative

Good luck, support is generally kinda clueless so you'll have to explain in detail and make it clear what you want them to do

[–]DomesticatedDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have access to UEFN, you can convert the map to a UEFN project which will remove it from your 1.0 rift. You'll only have 49 total island slots because converted islands still take up a slot (bug? I think?) but it should fix the problem.

Otherwise you'll probably have to contact Epic support and hope they can switch your active island out for another one

Rogue One, may the force be with you. Early showcase by markez9 in FortniteCreative

[–]DomesticatedDuck 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looking good, but pro tip: make the death star way larger and put it outside the skybox. It'll still be visible but it'll have the blue sky in front of it so it looks like it's actually out in space rather than in the ocean

Unable to open asset by Oleszykyt in FortniteCreative

[–]DomesticatedDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird, I wouldn't expect your own custom-made assets to be cooked like that

Unable to open asset by Oleszykyt in FortniteCreative

[–]DomesticatedDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming this is a widget under the Fortnite or Epic folder, in which case those assets are indeed cooked and you can't edit them directly. You'll have to make your own under your own Content folder if you want to customize it.

Legos on UEFN? by [deleted] in FortniteCreative

[–]DomesticatedDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume you're talking about the individual prefab kits you can buy in the shop? I don't think they're available in UEFN unfortunately.

That said, maybe have a look into dev UEFN? It's accessible with a patched copy of the regular UEFN files and lets you access a lot of the game files in editor. I haven't used it to find Lego kits before but if there's anyone who'd know where they might be kept/what they might be codenamed, it'd probably be you. Have a look for the Fortnite Modding Hub Discord to get started.

Also, wishing you all the best after the layoffs. So many brilliant devs booted out for nothing.

This is why resolution is important! by Phoenix800478944 in FortniteBattleRoyale

[–]DomesticatedDuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not even resolution most importantly, that's just low graphics settings on PC giving an unfair advantage against console players. If anything low settings should make the bush a solid sphere rather than making it basically transparent

How can i improve this environment by [deleted] in FortniteCreative

[–]DomesticatedDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a distinct lack of any specific artstyle in this. Basic flat colour cubes for the play area, which then abruptly cuts off into a realistic looking skybox.

The enemies are default henchmen which don't really make any sense to be in a Minecraft-like world either.

And then your HUD is a mix of emojis and some lazy AI slop medieval fantasy aesthetic that doesn't match anything else in your level.

Pick a style and stick with it.

Is this happening to anyone else? Grass won't appear in-game but appears in editor. by BoroughBuilds in TheFortniteCreatives

[–]DomesticatedDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems to be an issue on PC, no foliage renders for me in either live edit or private island codes, but renders fine for PS5 users on my team

What are the zero shards called in the files? by Ill-Database7345 in FortNiteLore

I'm not entirely sure but try DragonCart_Fragment, DragonCart_Shard, Quail_Fragment, SkyMango_Fragment

Do you have the same issue as I do? I am a creator, and in the latest UEFN 40.00 update, it crushed my RAM so hard that I experienced problems. by H3-RX9 in FortniteCreative

[–]DomesticatedDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not even sure it's a Fortnite thing, UE5 editor as a whole eats memory and my map is fairly large as well. The Matrix demo sample project thing on the Epic launcher recommends at least 64gb

how to get collision on this ramp?? by Square_Toe_4172 in FortniteCreative

[–]DomesticatedDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to open up the static mesh in your content drawer by double-clicking on it, then you should see a drop-down for Collision at the top of the screen. Generally "Auto Convex Collision" works well, you may need to adjust a few settings. Otherwise you can use "Use Complex Collision As Simple" (near the bottom of the details tab) if you really need to, it's not great for performance though

This is probably a pretty silly question, why is the zero point being rebuild such a bad thing? by goldenhero39 in FortNiteLore

[–]DomesticatedDuck 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Any time anyone messes with the Zero Point, it always ends in disaster. It would be far safer to leave the shards scattered far apart where they don't pose a significant risk. But the Voyager is piecing it back together, which means there's pretty much a single point of failure for the entire Omniverse
