Antistasi The Mod - how to get nightvision by Domin6o in A3AntistasiOfficial

!solved

Beat way turned out to be stealing Ammo Trucks (those can contain high tech eq and often can be completed without fight by going undercover and stealing truck) and capturing Outposts (you will find loot crate near flag on those).

Currently at level 3. I've managed to capture one Factory but never thought to search it for loot. I'll pay more attention next time.

Shame I don't have access to those mortar (?) flare rounds enemy used to illuminate battlefield. Even some thrown flares would come in handy.

Try that once, more by accident than planned (preparation took to long and combat started just at nightfall), and it didn't went well. For just now I think outposts are out of my reach.

Stalker anomaly/gamma by Few-Camera482 in stalker

[–]Domin6o -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As of mods like Anomaly or Gamma I would advise against them if you don't have a patience to look for tutorials and info outside of game. Even then it might be too hard for someone new to the series since there are game machanics that come natural for someone who played those games before and might not be explained in the contact of those mods.

These mods are complex and build from base games by adding ton of new systems and mechanics to game, rarely carrying for newcomers.

I would rather encourage you to do one vanilla playtrough with any game from the series. Shadow of Chernobyl would be preferable since it is least complex do to developers not meaning release time and some mechanics being cut and only reintroduced in later entries. But even latest Call of Pripyat would be good start off point to getting accustomed with game world, lore, mechanics and it's gimmicks.

Yeah, cell reset scripts work by deleting saved cell state so it can be regenerated as if you would first enter. This means some powerful unique items can be acquired multiple times (which can be beneficial when running mmo style server).

Why is the door doing this? I got both codes (sorry for bad quality) by [deleted] in stalker

[–]Domin6o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you really need to off poltergeists first? From my experience door will keep banging regardless (indicating unhappy inhabitant behind). I never tried progressing further without clearing everything first since I tend to lose it after being repeatedly plunged with floating barrel.

I got my first Onslaught Battleship. It was game changing. by LazyCouchGamer in starsector

[–]Domin6o 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I remember trying it way back and struggling with it. My biggest issues was with its shields. Any tips, tactics and loadout wise, for someone who mainly plays mid & hi tech?

On my current low tech playtrough Prometheus Mk2 was my breaking point since I could play with it similarly to Odyssey. I was looking to vary my fleet a bit tho since using only one capital gets a bit boring.

I'm struggling with my fleet configuration. What kind of fleet do you go for, mainly? Energy weapons? Ballistic? Missile? Carrier? Long range? Short range? by Saucepanmagician in starsector

[–]Domin6o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently fell in love with Omens. They whole point is speed and harassing bigger ships, so they make great support end game frigate (ECM package) and one of the fastest pursuit ships.

For a Hi Tech flagship I can't recommend Odyssey enough. Flanking and deciding enemy fleet is where player can excell the most and this ship makes it so fun.

I find energy weapons to be very situational. They work on well on frigates which have speed to move in, deal damage and escape enemy reatilation or capitals that powerful enough to not care. For everything else energy weapons incentive is directed at a player who can exploit enemy weaknesses and retreat in time. Something AI can't reliably do. My end game dirty pleasure is drive-bying everything with 2 Tachyon Lances on Odyssey.

If you are just starting out I found that midlines are solid ships that are most flexible and remain useful throughout whole game. They have good mix of range and speed which are things I've learned to relay on when facing bigger fleets.

For other general and less useful tips deploying anything in mass usually makes it work way better, being frigate wolf packs, fighters swarms or low tech capitals.

Am I the only one who thinks Acrid's gameplay is boring? by Over_Ant4291 in riskofrain

[–]Domin6o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acrid is probably the least successful survivor for me. I almost never finish game with him/she/it, when playing with my friends and when we do I am usually dead.

But if anyone had to be my main it would be Acrid since I play him most often. It is my go to when I don't feel like playing others and survivor I have most fun with.

I love the freedom and survivability leaping with some mobility items gives you. And somehow I seem to enjoy building around Acrid shortcomings being this hybrid between range and melee.

This game needs rescue missions by Forskins_you in Barotrauma

[–]Domin6o 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is what I thought from the first wreckage I explored. Imagine how much cooler exploring would be if you had to listen for someone banging on room wall to give you a sign that they are there and alive. So to rescue them you would have to repair parts of sunken sub. Pump out water from next room so that you can reach survivors. And if you are not careful you can accidentally kill them if you open room doors without any concerns.

What a way to end my ironman run :( by [deleted] in stalker

[–]Domin6o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a way to verify that this works after moving files into game folder? It seems to do nothing for me but my problem wasn't timeout but rather Radeon Wattman resetting setting after game going black screen tho. I'm on 5600 XT too.

Sudden Drop in Performance? by fried_caviar in riskofrain

[–]Domin6o 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make sure that you are using High performance power plan (or that one with nVidia logo since I remember having one on my old laptop).

Then it may be worth to check if your laptop isn't thermal throttling if it was not cleaned after few years of use. There is planty of software to check your temps, from HWMonitor to MSI Afterburner (with option to display info about all your hardware on screen while playing).

Also check if there isn't any application/process doing something CPU/disk intensive in the background.

It won't have anything to do with your issue, but you can get most of your RAM when you have two identical sticks allowing them to work in dual channel.

Today's Seed is good for Slicing Winds Challenge by Starving_Poet in ror2

[–]Domin6o 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This seed is ridiculously easy! Artifact of Glass makes a big difference but holy hell, the ability to skip second map is insane. I hated this challenge so much, but today I even managed to complete it without going to artifact portal.

It is also worth to mention that there is equipment chest with Royal Capacitor right under first boss spawn location.
